Living in "Eagle" land, its all the buzz, losing out on Moss, going after Fitz, Roy W or Chad Johnson. Hey, lets add TO and Reggie Wayne while were at it!! Many think they can just trade Lito Shepard for Fitz, crazy huh??? With the release of Spikes today, saving a 5 mil bonus, this creates extra space within the cap. The local espn station was all over that. Rumors, Eagles must be making a move. While I laughed at that, I also must admit, I hate for it to happen. Curious bunch the Eagles, lets hope that they still refuse to admit they need a WR, Moss aside!!

If they get anyone, I hope it's Chad Johnson. I'd love to see Reid deal with his antics.

Maybe so, but I would rather face Reggie Brown and Kevin Curtis!!!

It won't matter who they get once we trade for DeAngelo Hall to shut down their receiver and Roy Williams to run right by Asante Samuel. ;)

I do not want to see Johnson or Fitz in Philly. There is nothing about either of those ideas that I like in any fashion.

It doesnt matter...McFlab is still doing the throwing

He IS one of the main issues there

Not to mention too that unlike the earlier Reid years, they don't have the same (sick)depth on D like they used to. Despite their usual 4 man DE rotation, they have no backups at DT(at Patterson is facing a 4 game suspension for weed). Now that Spikes is gone, they have nada depth behind their 3 young LBs. Sure, they are very talented, but Bradley will be playing for the first time, Gaither on the outside is not his usual position, and Gocong(a former DE in college) while being utlized in the pass rush really well by JJ, has weak coverage skills.

Assuming Lito is traded, Samuel is actually somewhat of a downgrade from him. Dawk is a year older and another step slower. They still have issues at SS. In years past their nickel backs became future starters(i.e. Harris and Hood), but now-especially if they have to trade 1st day picks for a receiver, they likely won't find a decent one on the second day. And to top it off, while their OL is still very good, they have no depth. Their OTs are old and have no backups. Andrews is a premier player, but he's injury prone. Overall, this unit struggles in pass protection.

Sure-a Fitz/Johnson would be a huge upgrade on this O, but this isn't exactly that '04 Eagles team(and for that matter, this D isn't exactly the dominant force it was during most of Reid's tenure). Sure-Jim Johnson is brilliant, but you can only deal with the cards that's given to you.

You seem to forget McNabb is the one who threw to TO in the Superbowl...

Nope, sure didnt forget...but now also believe he was the main problem in that lockerroom, not TO

he may have been but I'm not at all thrilled with any idea that gives him legit weapons where he might accidently have a good year and help them defeat us.

I'm not interested in anything that actually helps Philly in any manner.

He's not exactly "their last piece of the puzzle" either. Don't underestimate Spikes' loss, and for that matter, assuming Lito gets traded, don't underestimate his loss in the secondary either.

BTW-after finally discovering running a balanced offense in '06, Reid ditched it(again) in '07 with a gimpy legged QB to boot. Getting a high caliber receiver will all but make running the football an afterthought for him. We all know how terrible a playcaller Reid is to boot running airborne schemes.

Thank you. Sometimes I feel like I am standing alone on an island on this. It's obvious (to me, at least) that McNabb is the root of the offensive problems there, and always has been. Every year he gets a bit older. You just know things are not going to end well for the Eagles franchise.

Well, at least that is the plan as of today.

:muttley:

Westbrook is the key to that offense, has been for years, and he is a yr older also.

And not to mention too this AP All-Pro guy is not only one of the lowest paid RBs in the league, but also one of the lowest paid players on the TEAM. I would find it hard to believe that, assuming they get Fitz and his $32m/2 yr guaranteed money, that they could co-exist in the locker room.

And yeah, Westbrook's knees are not in great shape either.

Aint that something?

Your team goes and gets you and All Star/All Pro WR and you go ahead a fugg it up for personal reason instead of winning for the team.

One thing we know about TO is he is honest and I dont believe he lies. When he said that Donovan said he doesnt have to throw to him.... I was amazed.

I think most people would look at the situation and say, T.O. was catching McFlabb's passes in the Super Bowl, and T.O. is now in Dallas.

McFlabb is what he is, an underachiever.
