Eagles receiver Jabar Gaffney faces a gun charge, authorities say. Internet reports had earlier said rookie Broderick Bunkley was the person charged.
In a statement from Acting Camden County Prosecutor James P. Lynch and Delaware River Port Authority Public Safety Director Vincent J. Borrelli, they said Gaffney was driving his sport utility vehicle over the Walt Whitman Bridge into New Jersey on June 20, 2006, at approximately 7:25 p.m.

Police searched his car after they thought he was driving erratically. A police officer saw a handgun in the glove compartment.
The statement said the gun was legally registered in Texas, Gaffney's former home state, to a family member who was with Gaffney in the car.
Gaffney had a permit to legally carry the weapon in Texas, but not in New Jersey, authorities said.

Gaffney, 25, of Lumberton, N.J., is charged with a third-degree offense which carries a maximum five-year prison term.
But Gaffney's attorney has applied for a court-run diversionary program for persons without prior criminal records, the statement said.
Last night, the Web site
www.profootballtalk.com had first reported that there were rumors that holdout defensive end Brodrick Bunkley had been arrested on a gun charge. The story was then repeated on 610 WIP and Comcast SportsNet.
All three outlets made it clear that was report was an unconfirmed rumor.
Bunkley remains a contact holdout in training camp and is reportedly seeking a shorter-term contract than other rookie players drafted this spring in his same draft position.
"When you miss time as a rookie in that position (defensive tackle), the guys who have missed time, the success rate is very low," Reid said Friday about Bunkley.
Today, the Eagles promoted rookie draft-pick LaJuan Ramsey ahead of Bunkley and veteran Ed Jasper to second team defensive tackle.
Ramsey is now playing the position that Eagles expected Bunkley to play, and by all accounts Ramsey has been very impressive in training camp.
