Eagles bring back Tim Jernigan

And get him back at a fraction of the cost.
Their approach to DT is so much different than ours.

And they will likely add another DT in the draft.

Marinelli’s flawed approach.

Jernigan is a great rotational piece. At Malik's age, you need guys like Jernigan who can spell him w/ play that doesn't hurt you, which is Jernigan to a T.

We essentially upgraded Jernigan to Malik Jackson, and then upgraded Haloti Ngata to Jernigan.

Timmy Jernigan, Josh Sweat, Vinny Curry, Fletcher Cox, Chris Long, Derek Barnett, Brandon Graham, Malik Jackson, probable round 1-2 DT (3 total picks). That is freaking astonishing. It's a super group like the Avengers, any one of them could start on other D-lines.

Yup.

That was a huge factor in the Eagles winning the super bowl that mostly no one talks about. Deep DLine rotations who can be kept fresh to the 4th quarter are often essential to super bowl runs. That's what NE does, and it works to a T.

And then there’s us.

Where our DC thinks he can great DT play from mid to late round picks, UDFAs and cheap FAs.

If they had added a Suh or McCoy and draft a DT high in this draft they’d have a really good DL themselves to pair with Lawrence and Quinn.

But alas. I long for when Marinelli is done here.

Before the Eagles fans on here wet their pants let's not forget that Mr. Jernigan is often injured, and only played in 3 games last year. I'll give you his presence was noticeable, but if you can't get on the field it does Eagles no good.

I expected this move all along...and yes I agree that they will add another DT today or tomorrow.

well he's only really had one injury...but its a doozy. Pre-back injury Jernigan was very good...now?

I'm still hoping for Jeffery Simmons, could you imagine that? We'd have the luxury of going from Jernigan to Simmons next year.

I'm thinking Simmons or OL (maybe Howard) tonight. I'm excited tho because there are many directions we can go since we don't really have any huge hole anywhere.

I've had it myself too. His tells and tendencies getting exposed in that Rams game was the last straw. Time to go pops, the game passes everyone by at some point. Your time is up.

I think you need to fo something at offensive tackle. Peters is at the end.

Yea that's why I wouldn't be surprised with us drafting Tytus Howard in the first. He was a former TE just like Peters. Philly has done plenty of research on his judging by the number of visits and interviews. Maybe he can start right away at guard if Brooks is out the beginning of the year.

They also like the Aussie rugby player that drafted last year. If he makes a jump he could be our guy of the future. Big V is also there for depth, won the SB with him. So it's not a HUGE necessity, but I would love it if we finally drafted a Peters replacement.

I think it needs to happen.

He was pretty good. He was fairly good when he came back from injury the last 3 games, but you never know with a back.

Not sure. He really didn’t seem to be the same player to me in the playoffs. Maybe another 9 months of rest will help

Simmons might be ready for late season.
