With 2:57 left in the game and eagles were leading by 7, instead of playing bend-not-breaking prevent defense, Eagles called a blitz on the FIRST play of Giants drive. The result, a defensive TD and game over.

Two weeks ago, under exact the same situation, we were leading by 7 and with 3:20 left in the game. Zimmer/BP, as usual, decided to play prevent defense and Eli/Giants scored a TD through 6 plays in less than 2 minutes.

Wondering why our D can not make a stop when we need? Look no further than those two different playcalling under the exact the scenairo.

I do not care how many No.1 picks we are going to invest on defense for next several years. It won't be dominant without a change at playcalling.

I agree. Bye bye to conservative, read and react defense. Impose your defensive will on the opposing offense. Now, who's going to tell BP?

Aggressive defense looks ingenius when it works but when it gets burned it all the sudden was dumbfoundingly stupid, heinz sight always rules the football world.

It can't look much worse than we have seen thus far. We're giving up long passes and being embarrased by backs catching passes out of the backfield anyway. How much worse can it be if we're running line stunts and blitzing?

MAn i guess the fans missed the Memo.

WE CANT EVEN COVER A FB OUT OF THE BACKFIELD

HOW IN THE WORLD DO YOU EXPECT OUR PLAYERS TO EXCUTE A BLITZ

You guys want a blitz, but if they cant cover in a prevent defense, then why should we send a blitz. So we can have an excuse as to why we suck.

Sometimes fans are blind

If you need evidence of why it's risky to blitz, go back to the last time the Eagles and Giants met. In overtime, the Eagles blitzed, the Giants picked up the blitz, Burress was left 1-on-1 and beat Brown for the winning touchdown. Game over.

You live by the blitz, you die by the blitz. Sometimes it works, sometimes you get burned. And on average, offenses fare better when defenses blitz. You have to pick your spots to blitz, because if it doesn't work, you're likely to get burned.
