Eagles don't have a choice about Mcnabb's injury IMO

The problem isn't should or shouldn't mcnabb have the surgery now per say its they don't have a choice. Mike Mcmahon had knee surgery yesterday and their not sure how long he will be out. Which kinda straps the eagles right now.

I think an injured Mcnabb is better than a healthy detmer any day of the week.

Mike McMahon, the No. 3 quarterback who was signed as a free agent in the offseason after previously serving as Joey Harrington's backup in Detroit, will undergo exploratory arthroscopic knee surgery.

''They don't know by MRI exactly what is wrong there, [so] they are going to take a look,'' Reid said. ''He does have some pain in that knee, though.

''I'm not too sure about what's going on there, and I don't think the doctors are. So, am I concerned? I guess I am until I find out what is wrong with him.''

I agree, Philly is going to ride McNabb as far as they can and they do catch a bit of a break with the bye week this weekend. I still have big doubts that McNabb is going to make it through the season.

McNabb said the recovery process would be 4-6 weeks after the surgery. The Eagles have a bye week this week which means 2 weeks until they play their next game. That means he would probably only miss 3-5 games at most. As it stands, even if they limp into the playoffs, odds are good they will have a quick exit. It would have been smarter for him to do the surgery now. Personally, I am glad he is waiting :)

Listening to Brian Cox on the radio (and knowing a couple of people who have had sports hernias), they were saying that 4-6 weeks is extremely generous. If he had that surgery, the likelihood is that he'd be out for the remainder (or bulk of) the season.

Wouldn't it be great if they signed Quincy Carter. Can you imagine the sideline arguement when Q throws the ball high to TO across the middle and TO get flattened?
