Eagles game. Is a victory impossible?

Comparisons, current teams, not on paper.

OL...very very close with Tyron out; Edge goes to Dallas if he plays, but this isn't the night and day comparison we sometimes see. The Eagles OL is solid.

RB...Blount and Ajai vs Morris and Smith/McFadden --- Eagles get the best of it here.

WR...I go with Philly. Jeffrey, Smith, and Aguiar (Hollins is a big play guy too). They seem to be more consistent and explosive.

TE...No question, Eagles have a big edge here.

QB...Many experts say that Wentz is having the better year and is the only one of the two in the MVP discussion, but I'll call this one a wash....both make the offenses work and can avoid pressure

With Tyron and Elliott, I might give the Cowboys the edge, but without Elliott and with a gimpy LT, I have to go with the Eagles as the better offense for this Sunday.

Front 7 on Defense...probably wasn't a question even if Lee was healthy, but right now it's a landslide in favor of the Eagles. It will be hard to run on that group, but Dak will likely have to run for his safety.

Secondary...I like what I'm seeing from our young pups as far as growth goes, but if Heath is out, we need huge games from Frazure and Woods. I think our CBs are better than theirs, but we're covering better receivers. I think this is maybe a slight edge to Dallas, but it's very close.

Special Teams ...With Bailey out, I give the edge to Philly again

I personally go into this game with no illusions. I hope for a victory based on the unexpected from anywhere...turnovers? Special Teams scores? incredible performances from unlikely players? Coaching surprises (cough cough). I expect the Cowboys to lose this game to the better team, but I hope we are still in it in the fourth quarter when anything can happen; I just don't see how that happens.

I think their front seven will shut down the run game.
I think they're secondary will take Dez out and take their risks with our other receivers. They'll allow Witten to have a big day vs linebackers, but we may negate that by using him for protection.

It could get ugly early, but I hope not. On any given Sunday ... but we need a lot of things to go right just to have a chance.

I hope you guys are correct. There's still plenty of time to go on a winning streak even if we lose, but we have to play well and have some answers for our problems.

With this week looking the same as last week, nothing that says anything different.

Doing the same thing expecting different results isn't likely to happen. I fully expect Green to start at LT again this week with similar results.

Was confident a couple of weeks ago with no Zeke but with Tyron and Lee out, chances are slim and none and slim just left town...

The biggest difference on defense will be having Durant active. Jaylon may become the player he's projected to be but right now he's much better in spot situations. If Hitchens and Durant can positively impact our run defense I think the secondary is quick enough to keep up with the Eagles short passing game. On offense if Smith can't go it depends on Bell and how much help they can give him.

I am prepared for a close game, where the boys make an impossible comeback, then have victory snatched away in a heartbreaking loss due to a penalty or turnover that is inconclusive and overturned.

Secondary is a lean to them. They get Darby back at CB and their safeties are much better than ours.

Basically, their entire defense outclasses ours.

It is not impossible because anything can happen in professional sports. The problem for the Cowboys is a whole lot of stuff has to go right that probably wont. I see a lot of that stuff being tied to Sean Lee's absence.

So I did some perusing of the various sports sites and their fantasy picks for the weekend.

It's discouraging that most of them state you should start Wentz, Ajayi, Jeffrey and Ertz and bench Prescott, Morris, Bryant.

LOL. I am hoping for a win but this could be an epic beat down on Sunday night. This is a mismatch on paper when you factor in injuries and just how mediocre we've been even when we had those guys.

If a blow out happens, you have to hope it knocks some sense into the old fart in the owner's box that brings massive changes in the offseason. It likely won't but I have to hope about something positive.

I wouldn't say victory is impossible in any crucial divisional game such as the one that we'll see Sunday night. What I would say is that our prospects don't look especially rosy in terms of our Cowboys being at their best, although divisional games of this nature are very commonly surprising when the final score is the books. Let's just say the odds shouldn't prevent the Cowboys from competing feverishly to win any game with the serious implications that this one has. It will also be fought by a Cowboys team that has its back to the wall to produce a winning season.

Nevertheless, to be totally candid, the specter of seeing either Green or Bell at LT isn't one that has me drooling in delightful anticipation of a promising victory. Either and/or both of those two are scary replacements, as best, for a perennial Pro Bowl participant. For Sean Lee to be absent from his weak side LB post is yet another punch in the gut for the Cowboys, as far as our chances are concerned. Yet, there's always a fighters chance to emerge victorious in such crucial divisional games. Pride is at stake, after all.

In view of all that, this game is one that should rightfully bring out the most determined efforts from both teams. Both teams will rightfully fight for their pride, hopefully to the finish. As the saying goes, "to the victor go the spoils." May the best team win with heads held high. Go, Cowboys!

If rod attacks w wentz and get some rattled and Linehan puts together a wide-open game plan.
If the Eagles Overlook us I would after last week's game LOL and we come in there with an attitude I think we can at least make it close but that's a lot of IFS and our coaching staff

This team isn't completely incapable of having solid game plans. I liked what they did in Seattle in 2014 and a couple games last year. But no Zeke and Lee and possibly Tyron is going to be so tough.

Depends on what kind of heart dallas has!!!! Do they come out and play like there REARS are on fire...there very playoff lives depending on a victory or do they come out sulking all over the field. Odds are against us but what are you going to do.
