Eagles inform Owens in writing of behavior issues

ESPN.com news services

Reid to meet with T.O. upon his return

The Philadelphia Eagles have sent wide receiver Terrell Owens a letter outlining what they perceive is a series of behavioral problems over the last two weeks, a league source told ESPN's Sal Paolantonio.

Owens acknowledged in a conversation on Monday with ESPN's Michael Irvin that he had received the letter.

The letter was sent over the weekend and arrived at Owens' home in Atlanta on Monday, two days before he is scheduled to meet with head coach Andy Reid at the Eagles' practice facility.

Eagles officials, most notably Reid, have been compiling detailed notes on Owens' behavior, delineating any incident they deemed questionable, in case the club needed documentation in any grievance or arbitration case.

A source characterized the letter as the beginning of a process to suspend Owens from the team if Owens' behavior does not change after that meeting takes place. Owens is expected, according to the Eagles, to rejoin the team on Wednesday, but Reid has said he would only allow Owens back on the field if he sees a marked change in his behavior and attitude.

welp. There it is in writting, setting the stage for a suspension, non-paid of course. TO better walk a tight rope from here on out or he could be owing the eagirls a couple million, ala Ricky Williams.

Go get em, eagirls, hopefully you will win this one and bench TO, cause you sure cant win anything in the NFL, namely Lombardi Trophies.

'Detailed notes'? Any single, written, organized account of Owens lunacy would be thicker than the Kenneth Starr/Whitewater report. And probably just as interesting to read. :)

I was thinking the same thing...Maybe B.Childress could walk by and say "Hello TO" when Reid and TO are in the meeting. :p:

Haha. So TO is getting 'due process'...the documentation of his misdeeds.

In the real world, that spells one foot out the door and the boss getting ready to replace you...props to the Eagles for not being 'victims', but actively setting the stage...
