Eagles: Most Classless Fans?

Speaking as a Cowboy fan born as raised in Philly. Its odd to read a post about Philly fans being the most classless fan base, and then reading what some of you wrote. Kinda of makes me see why they call all Cowboy fans stuck up or obnoxious. Look, i enjoy the pain of an Eagles fans just as much as you, but you will never understand the passion and love they have for the teams around the city. I started getting smack email and textes as soon as they beat the rams. But i love that about Eagle fans. It should all be in good fun. Most if not all Philly fans are reasonable, they just hate the BOYS.

Really what Im trying to say is, read the post before you show just how classless YOU are.

All that said, i hope we beat the hell out of the Eagles on Monday night.
:eagles:

Hating another team is one thing, cheering Irvin laying motionless is another...Let's not confuse your homegrown fans with normal much less human...And to be considered obnoxious for pointing that reality out?

I'll tread lightly since I'm considered an alien from mopst Cowboy definitions here at the Zone; but out of respect for some very classy Moderators and my pal Reality, I think I'll spin this from a diplomatic perspective.

Trashing Eagle fans on a predominantly Cowboys fan MB is No surprise. But for those who have outwardly expressed their discords with Eagle fans, I lost some respect. You see, Eagles fans, like anything else, cannot be grouped and stigmatized becausde of the actions of rouge fans. Rouge fans exits in all franchises. I no more Believe what my Eagle fan brothers say about Cowboy fans (don't ask ...you wouldn't want to hear it, and I don't want to be banned). I know for a fact that all Cowboy fans aren't the same - nor do all Cowboy fans believe the same things that I'm reading on this very small thread. No one fan can speak for an entire Franchize ..no more than the action of some fans are representative of an entire fandom.

Still, to be On the safe side ...I wouldn't wear your Cowboy's jersey's at an Eagle's home game:eek::

I hate the Eagles. But I wouldn't cheer McFlabb suffering a major injury. face it Philly resident, Philly fans have no class, and they enjoy being the ignorant bums that they are.

I have worn cowboys hats/shirts at the vet and lived to tell about it...More bark than bite.

Especially now that they are at the linc. that atmosphere is long gone.

That's the problem that seems to go right over your head. There are rouge fans in all 32 teams, including the Cowboys. But the rouge fans at Philly are the ones that show a semblence of sportsmanship and enough common sense to seperate a "game" from something much more serious.

Only in Philadelphia are the "thug fans", (the ones who have no comprehension of civilization), the fans in the majority. The other 31 teams can find the line where team loyalty and enthusiasm end and a potential real-life trajedy begins.

This is not some knee-jerk conclusion, it has been documented time and time again. There is no way possible to defend the core of the Philadelphia Eagles fans. They have no class, no human dignity.

There are exceptions. There are a select few who truly wish the the majority had not placed the term "Eagles fan" is such a disgusting lite. I really do feel for those people. They would like to be considered normal, enthusiastic NFL fans of their favorite team like the other 31 teams have. Sad. :(

The day Cowboy fans much less any other fans cheer a player from an opposing team laying motionless on the turf after having a spinal injury through a hit, then it can be considered apples to apples...Otherwise, Philly is in a class by itself, a classless one
Irvin happens to be my all time favorite player in the history of the NFL, and despite his run ins with the law i have maintained that - you can view my previous posts to verify. I was devastated when he was injured, and angry at the philly fans cheering....and since i live in philly i would wager on an emotional level what i endured was more than what you did.

However, in defense of what has been stated in this thread I maintain that fans of all teams get out of hand at times, and the faults of a few can not be generalized to the entire population of philadelphia.

Suffice it to say, there are clowns in every walk of life, sports or otherwise...I just can't fathom a stadium of Cowboy fans much less any team cheering for a motionless player on the ground of an opposing team...Just can't sweep that under the rug...I hear things that happen from time to time that boggle the mind and cannot be excused, that one in particular definitely is an example.

And let's be honest, if someone had hid the locale of which stadium's fans had done that and simply polled people, I wager a great number would've guessed it to be Philly...That, should tell you all you need to know.

I'm not an Eagle hater, McNabb or otherwise...But the legacy of fans in Philly is well documented...This isn't some kneejerk reaction based out of rivalry, it goes across more than the sport of American Football...Doesn't mean everyone is a clown in Philly but it sure means they've got the market cornered on most of them at sporting events...It's simply reality

Eagle fans are in a class all by themselves when it comes to class(less).

Just my personal opinion, but I think Pittsburgh fans are worse. They are like Eagles fans with added arrogance from winning so many Super Bowls...

Its true there are bad actors amongst each teams fanbase but the eagle fans seem to be on another level.

Just wow. I'm dumbfounded that someone could be that big a POS.

And to think, there are thousands of guys like that.

I love telling this story. 2005 @ Philly. Monday Night Football.

I met a fellow Zoner, El Chevo, at a local sports bar called The Wildcat House.

There was a rather obnoxious Eagles fan there. Every time the Eagles did something decent he would get right in your face and flex and stick his tongue out while growling like Hawk from the Wrestling tag team, the Road Warriors. Some of his flexes were over nothing.

One by one, he'd do this in the face of every Dallas fan sitting close by.

Bledsoe hits Glenn to bring it to within 6. Eagles fan is now nervous.

About 20 seconds of game time later and about three minutes left in the game, McNabb back to throw. Roy Williams with the INT and he has one man to beat and has a blocker. Bradie James sends McNabb to the showers for the rest of 2005 and Roy takes it to the house for the deciding score.

Cowboys fans are going wild. I am high fiving this particular Eagles fan's buddy and I look around for him. He had grabbed his keys and cell phone off the table and left. He couldn't hang.

Their colors are green, silver, and white. His was pure yellow. He was a gutless, no sack, spineless, can't hack it coward.

I'm embarrassed for that guy's mother. What makes people act that way after the age of twelve (even then)...even if it was just a front on the internet, why would someone purposely portray themselves as such a tasteless imbecile?

The gene pool in that area is questionable to say the least.

Been a member on the Eagles board for a while now...and although I've befriended a few people....I'm going to have to agree with the majority in this thread.

Philly would actually be a great city if it wasn't for all the douchebags.

On a side note, did you happen to see the article today that had Philly ranked 25th out of 25 cities for the most attractive people? The funny thing is, they were happy to be ranked 25th, not realizing that when you're only rating 25 cities, that simply means you came in dead last.

Not only are they ugly, they're stupid too. :laugh2:
