Eagles Move Lito Sheppard To Special Teams, ONLY!

Eagles CB Lito Sheppard has been relegated to special teams duty with CB Joselio Hanson taking over the nickel back role.

While the loud-mouthed schnook Sheppard roared all off-season about not starting, Hanson quietly went about improving his game -- and it's paid off. The Eagles pass defense has allowed just 5.99 YPA and a 53.3 completion percentage since Hanson took over for Sheppard seven games ago.

Philly media is so stupid.

Lito is still the best corner they have and it's not even close.

AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:lmao2: :lmao2: :lmao2: :lmao2:

Remember all that talk how he, Brown, and Samuels would be that 3-headed monster that would terrorize opposing defenses?!?:lmao2:

I am just laughing SO hard over this! Remember all these trade talks last offseason...

Sheppard, Justice, and a #2 to the Cards for Larry Fitzgerald

Sheppard to the Saints for Pro-Bowl LT Jamaal Williams and a #2

Sheppard to Tampa for one of their pass rushers and a #2

Sheppard to Washington for Shawn Springs and a #2

Sheppard to New England for their #2

Sheppard to Cleveland for high picks

Sheppard to Baltimore for their #10 overall pick

Sheppard to the Jets for high picks

Yah-if ANY of these trades happened, it would have been HIGHWAY ROBBERY! If the Birds had landed Fitz, they would be 12-1 by now! Or what if they had EXTRA picks to work with...yah-they would have drafted a playmaking TE(something they don't have now), and they would be equally as dangerous.

Lito has been a Cowboy killer!!!! He has done well against Owens in the past. So maybe the Cowboys can take advantage.

I wonder if any of those deals they rumored in the offseason were actually legit, or if they were just blustering.

If they were legit, and the Eagles held out for more, well then they made a huge error.

Eagles = Huge Mistake

I live in South Jersey, the rumores were the Eagles were holding out for a higher pick, take it for what it is.

The rumors were the same in the rest of the country, too. Thanks.

The Fitzgerald rumors were TRUE-even the Sporting News and other mainstream outlets reported it too.

The Shawn Springs rumors were true as well, the DC media confirmed it.

The Browns, who were nicked at corner in the offseason, inquired about Sheppard b/c they were desperate to fill this gap.

The Saints were almost ready to pull the trigger for Sheppard, even if it meant giving up their Pro Bowl LT, but decided it wasn't worth it.

Lito visited Tampa prior to the draft and it looked like a deal was done, but Gruden thought it wasn't worth it.

John Harbaugh, Baltimore's coach who was a Reid assistant in Philly, welcomed the idea of Lito in his D, but Ozzie Newsome didn't think giving up the overall #10 pick in the draft was worth it.

New England had holes to fill in their secondary, so they entertained the idea of Lito, as did the Jets.

Yes-the Eagles are THAT naive and stupid to think other teams are incredibly desperate enough to give them the kitchen sink for ANYTHING. That's too bad b/c just a mere #2 would have done it for them, and they could have gotten a nice TE or SS in this year's draft.

Did you even see our last meeting with them where he was beaten all over the field? Or how about the meeting before that? Romo was off in the latter, otherwise, Owens was schooling him all over the field.(aside from that INT late in the 1st half)

BTW-what is it with Eagles players and being unhappy over their contracts? They had this same **** with Michael Lewis a couple of years ago. That's too bad b/c he's emerged as a fine SS for the Niners.(which has been one of their few bright spots)

Sorry: I couldn't resist. Despite the fact I hate the team, the city and yes, even LS for having big games against us, I still always loved that corny old Boz Scaggs tune:

[chorus:]
Lido, whoa oh oh oh
He's for the money
He's for the show
Lido's a waitin' for the go
Lido, whoa oh oh oh-----
(He said,) "One more job oughta get it
One last shot 'fore we quit it
One more for the road"

Lido be runnin' havin' great big fun
Until he got the note
Sayin', "Tow the line or blow it"
And that was all she wrote
He be makin' like a beeline headin' for the borderline
Goin' for broke
Sayin', "One more hit oughta do it
This joint, ain't nothin' to it
One more for the road"

[chorus]

[instrumental]

[repeat chorus and fade]

Seems fitting now huh?

yeah, Jim Johnson is such a blockhead for benching him, what does he know about defense right?

I gotta go with dbair.....and more importantly JIm Johnson on this one. That crusty old fart plays the best player.....PERIOD.....my educated guess is Lito isn't that guy right now....or he'd be in there. Believe me.

He's been unhappy since last year over his current contract. He signed one in '04 that goes through '10 or '11, and then he comes back and finds out he signed a BAD one!(It's one of those contracts where the base salary decreases every year and/or, you don't get paid FMV as the years go by, but they compensate that with a big signing bonus)

IOW-he got sucked in, and by the time he realized it was a fraud, it was too late.

But nonetheless, the Eagles were STOOPID for trying to get too much from other teams for him. Now, they'll be lucky if they merely get a 7th rounder for him.

I like our guys alot better than him.

If they were all healthy and available at this time, yes I agree, but given that Jenkins has been hurt and Jones is now likely out for the year, I wouldn't be upset, in the least, to have him playing here.

Lito has played horribly this year. What's surprising is the skirtish way he's blamed his horrid play on his contract situation. Fact is he may have stunk his way into settling for a job anywhere next year.

Wasn't it once upon a time ago, your team ALMOST traded away the (currently)best WR in the game(Larry Fitzgerald) for Lito, Turdstyle Justice, and a #2?

Seriously-this would have been HIGHWAY ROBBERY on the part of the Eagles. With Fitz, the Eagles would be ruling the NFC now, and Reid's overrated pass-happy playbook would look absolute genious!
