Just when you thought Jerry was the dumbest GM in the NFL....along comes Roseman with this deal.

Let me do the logic

40 million better then 50 million . . . because 40 million beat 50 million 2x

Wow aren't Cowboy Fans blessed . . .

Not just talking about Hurts with the contract point. Dak is tied with I think 2-3 other players on his contract in 7th. And that's going to drop once Lamar Jackson and Burrow get paid. So, he's probably going to fall out of the top 10, unless he gets extended. As others have pointed out, the salary he commands, while large, appears to be flexible enough with restructures that it's not as bad as it could be. Especially when you consider some other deals, like Hurts or Watson.

I mean, when you look at some of these names, I think we did alright with Dak.

well, that does it. according to many here if he occupies more than 15% of salary cap, its impossible to win a superbowl. so they are doomed!
Depends on whether they have talent or not.

If you have to give a QB a huge contract then that player must make everyone around him better not force everyone around him to carry him.

This isn't complicated.

Dak is better than Hurts and y’all know how I feel about Dak.

Casual fan can’t see that right now though because they get caught up in a stat or pff grade.

He went to the bench because of the 40 million contract. . . I noticed they allowed the Great Dak to save face by KEEPING HIM ON THE BENCH against the Eagles
Rush was a unrestricted free agent recently, yet he only signed for 2 years, 5 million.

That should tell you all you need to know about Rush and how the league views him.

I would never pay a QB in today's market unless they were a bonafide future hall of fame type talent like Burrow or Herbert.

Pick one in the first round, play 4 years with them, pick up the 5th year option, turn and burn if they are good but not great. Build a contending roster around the player and just slot in the next 1st rounder. After enough tries, you should have gotten lucky and gotten one of those top guys or have won a Superbowl with a good starter on a cheap rookie deal.

Why NFL GMs are too afraid to emulate the SanFran model is very confusing to me.
Even those 2 haven’t won anything yet ( Burrow came close in 2021) , having those superior QB talent is only not enough as you need OL to protect them and a decent defense not to give up the leads.

I know it is the market rate but it hampers other areas of the team . Agree for winning when they are in rookie deals.

As opposed to a Jag with a Mid Round selection every year . . . MTay
The QB we have just led us to back to back playoff seasons for the first time since 06 and 07 and our first road playoff win in 30 years against Tom Brady who we were 0-7 against. Our situation could be a lot worse and it would be if some of you were running the team.

Baltimore is preparing an explosive device to be delivered into Philly headquarters.

Lamar is loving this.
I think Lamar's hold up is not so much the money as he will get that. But he wants it fully 100% guaranteed like Watson's deal.
And yes he is loving it.
