Eagles Sign Brandon Brooks

Gotta give them credit.

People can mock them all they want about the bad deals they made last year but they got out from under them, they didn't soil their pants in fear over bad contracts and they've went out and tried to address some big needs in free agency - defensive back, OL, etc.

And here we sit............. can't pay Mario Williams a fair contract, apparently $14MM guaranteed for Lamar Miller is too much, etc.

They are a ship afloat without a captain.

You going to stop whining any time today?

It's not that we CAN'T sign Mario Williams or Miller it's we don't want to. We don't want to strap ourselves to a near 30 year old DE coming off a down year or an RB with one year over 1,000 yards rushing.

You going to stop defending every single thing the front office does?

The Cowboys won't be "strapped" down if they had signed Miller or Williams. Miller got $14MM guaranteed. Nothing that is too difficult to get out from under if need be. Williams deal is also apparently cap friendly where Miami can bolt.

You mean to tell me you'd rather pay Adrian Clayborn $5MM a year instead of $8MM a year for Mario Williams? I am not even asking them to sign everyone. But a key signing here or there takes some pressure off in the draft. You sign Mario Williams on what is a pretty fair deal, you can then think about something else at 4........... but you sign Clayborn, he's nothing but a depth signing and suddenly Bosa is back in play at 4.

No one is complaining that the problem is the Cowboys can't sign anyone. It's the fact that they won't sign ANYONE unless it's a total bargain for them.

And you know what that thinking has gotten them in the last 3-4 years? A .500 record with one playoff win.

Awesome!

And when Jerry was more spend-happy in the early to mid 2000s, where did that get us?

Give credit for what ? They did the same crap last year in FA how'd that work out ? They are going to have a ton of dead money in a couple years. Good luck paying these decent players like ALL-PRO's

NFC east opponents getting stronger and we just here Chillin, everything I expected though.
