He’s an Eagles fan now of course. He’s owned the team for 30 years and been financially disheartened by Boston a few times. I imagine it’s like players when they get drafted; Saquon grew up hating the Eagles and was a Jets fan. But then he gets drafted by NY and signs with Philly. Hes probably a big Eagles/Giants guy than he ever was a Jets fan. Kids grow up
 
So Dallas is trading for WRs and the 49ers are trading for DEs. One is trading for show and the other is trading for trenches. This people is why the Cowboys will never win anything.

Their player development is exceptional. Hearing that Hunt likely has Bryce's position locked up already (with Nolan Smith opposite, and Ojulari and Uche for depth.
Probably a good bet for the Niners too. He was great under Saleh before, and now retiurns to that system for a 2nd chance at a reasonable number.

Next year Huff is 20M against the cap, I wouldn't call it a great move it was just a move. If we made that move it's called a bust

It will soon be supplanted by scrutiny on how the hell the Commanders went right by the Cowboys and the Eagles in such a short period of time by their new owners.

Dan Quinn had a lot to do with that. I mean, he brought our depth over. Guys like Fowler, his guys, we're getting 10 sacks because his ability to bring the best out of so-called busts.

We need some of that with these former bust cast off types. I mean, if even 2 or 3 work out you win, or that strategy wins.

The problem is, it can also shoot you in the foot.

If you look at guys like Murray, he's been one of those guys who didn't really have great teammates and he was supposed to be the guy. Or team captain.

If he turns it around here, that would be great. He's an amazing athlete.

I’m referencing the $9M in savings you posted.

As far as dead space goes you have $12.5M in dead space to account for between this year and next. Absolutely was a failure of a signing for the Eagles when he gave you 2 1/2 sacks and had 13 tackles.

Yeah that’s vs cutting him outright which would have been the solution if we couldn’t find a trade partner. He hasn’t shown up once this offseason and probably was going to hold out until we moved him

And of course it was a bad signing, that’s the point of all of this

I know the Cowboys better, but I respect and even admire the Eagles organization. They are regarded as one of the very best in the league.

Did you miss the parent where I said it was a horrible signing for them?
I just think it's smart of them to get out of it quickly and be decisive. He was a poor fit for that system, and it was a bad signing, but they got out it ncicely considering.

He’s grooming his son to take over operation of his NFL team, too. We’ll all see how it works out.

Next years draft is really big for the Eagles future and probably why they brought Joe Douglas back. As of now they have 13 picks in a 7 round draft.

Another reason why Philly will probably win the NFC East again. Must be nice having so much depth on the defensive line. More draft picks for them. Jethro and Stephen need to up their GM game or get out of the way for someone who will!

But Jerry wouldnt of acknowledged the bust. Its not really the mistake, it's the ownership of it and cutting your losses.

They they ate the loss. They're paying 20M against their cap next year for a guy who plays for their conference rival.

There is nothing "nice" about paying 20M next year against the cap for a guy to play against you.

They gave him away and took the cap hit. The signing was bad and the exit was expensive too.
