See post #72.There is nothing "nice" about paying 20M next year against the cap for a guy to play against you.
They gave him away and took the cap hit. The signing was bad and the exit was expensive too.
You are thinking like Jerry. Football is a business and any business should not lose money.
That said, there is also a saying in business that sometimes you have to spend money to make money.
The birds took a loss on this one guy, the question becomes if they (the birds) see it as a cost of doing business or they got fleeced on a bad contract and they are going to become leery on signing future players where they know there is a risk?
Jerry is a very successful businessman. He won't take monetary loses on either a short or long term scale IMO. That said, he's still a billionaire. Laurie on the other hand will still take short and long term loses, and Laurie is still a billionaire.
Given where both the Boy's and birds have been in the playoffs in the last 20 years, if you were a betting man, what team would your money be on to get back to the super bowl?
We all complain that the birds HAVE to be losing money, but if they guy who owns the team doesn't care, why should the fans complain when the team is doing good?
Being a fan makes no sense LOL
