I'm not really sure why they needed to trade him, but I think that they trust their WR core very much right now, with a solid player in Curtis, speedster in Jackson, and the big fade route guy in the endzone player in Baskett. Plus they have Avant, who arguably has the best hands on their team.
I guess it comes down to roster churning and who they felt was the worst player in that group.
