Eagles trying for Melvin Gordon

Just got an update that Eagles tried swapping Howard for Gordon. Can’t post the link. Anyone help me out? Horrible news if true

He will be hurt in a few games. Missing training camp with his ailments, will be difficult for him to overcome. Gordon gets injured walking across the film room. Overrated

That would have to be Howard and a maybe a 2nd rounder for Gordon.
They aren't in the same league talent-wise

I think Dallas' roster is constructed really quite well right now.

Lack of a Super Bowl, or even a Super Bowl appearance, since I was in First Grade.

Chargers countered with 1 and a 5 and Howard. Yikes.

But if no one else wants him and he misses game 1... Howie has made some crazy stuff happens before.

Yeah, Chargers called bs on that one. Can't hurt to give a low ball offer, I suppose.

Howard and a 3rd is reasonable. Wouldnt go higher than that. I don't think Gordon is a real need for you

The Chargers could let Gordon walk in FA and get a 3rd back so they would want more. Just my guess that is.

But they’d lose their main RB for the year on a team with super bowl aspirations. Howard isn’t elite, but he’s got to be worth something to them.

Maybe. They seem to like their other RBs and obviously Howard was not enough for them to pull the trigger and they did not find much value in making the trade.

Why trade for Gordon when you just dropped a 2nd on a HB. Unless you get him a larger discount?

Sanders isn't an ideal feature back, at least not in his rookie year. Yeah if we get a 300 carry, pro bowl type back for a 3rd and a guy we just traded a 6 for, or something slightly more than that then plans change. It's like asking why the Cardinals just took Murray when they had Rosen, or why the Seattles grabbed Clowney when they just refused to pay Clark.

Perceived improvement on a roster that's difficulty to make many.

If philly got Gordon that would be a game changer in the east. THANK GOD that hasn't happened. Gordon is very dynamic. The better fit I still contend would be GB for him. But they normally don't spend much at that position.
