A couple of weeks ago, a week after losing to the Commanders, the Eagles were trailing the lowly Colts 10-16 late in the 4th quarter. Cowboys fans were hopeful of an upset. But in the last minute, Jalen Hurts ran a QB draw, and the Eagles scored, squeaking out a 17-16 win after trailing a good portion of the game.

Flash forward a couple of weeks, and the Cowboys blew out those same Colts 54-19. Obviously the Cowboys are a better team, right? Not so fast.

The Eagles have regained their form, blowing out the Titans and Giants in their past two games. Meanwhile, the Cowboys barely survived against the hapless Texans on Sunday. Let’s hope the Cowboys can bounce back and blow out their next two opponents like the Eagles have done.

I predict an easy win against the Jags, because the Cowboys will be showing the Eagles what's in store for them.

Houston gave Phill hard time as well. heading into the 4th qrt it was 21 to 17. Philly would score a 4th qrt TD to end the day for the Texans.

Since Dak has returned, there has been a pattern. Cowboys scores in last 7 games:

24 pts v Lions
49 pts v Bears
28 pts v Packers
40 pts v Vikings
28 pts v Giants
54 pts v Colts
27 pts v Texans
?? pts v Jaguars.

I wouldn’t want to be the Jaguars next week. But if this pattern holds, then the Cowboys score in the 20’s against the Eagles in two weeks. The defense, with an injured Hankins, and two of their top 3 CB’s out for the season, needs to win the game against the Eagles.

Not sure why you feel it's going to be so easy. Jacksonville, unlike Houston, actually has weapons on offense. They also have a quarterback that can run the ball which gives our defense fits. Also, unlike Houston, they are fighting for their playoff lives. We are banged up on defense pretty badly, and our offense seems to get stuck in the mud and give the other team more opportunities than they should have.

Can we just call this what it is, our quarterback is giving other crappy team's hope that they can beat us with his hapless play.

If his name wasn't Dak Prescott 99.9% of the fan base would be calling for his head.
One good QB takes this team to the championship game, and no its not Rush either

I’m amazed at how many fans look at common scores and think that is any kind of predictor of future scores. As you rightly point out Jumbo, the eagles beat the colts by 1; we beat them by 35 so obviously the Cowboys will kill the eagles, lol. It’s fools gold because the NFL is the most unpredictable league in sports.

Looking at these previous NFL games, no one can tell me they saw these results coming:
  • Dolphins 21 Bills 19
  • Colts 20 Chiefs 17
  • Jags 38 Chargers 10
  • Broncos 11 49ers 10
  • Giants 24 Ravens 20
  • Steelers 20 Buccaneers 18
  • Falcons 28 49ers 14
  • Panthers 21 Bucs 3
  • Commanders 32 eagles 21
  • Pack 31 Cowboys 28
  • Lions 31 giants 18
  • eagles 17 Colts 16 (we must be way better than the eagles)
  • Cowboys 40 Vikings 3
  • Jaguars 28 Ravens 27
  • Bengals 27 Chiefs 24 (@KC)
  • Lions 34 Vikes 23
  • Chiefs 34 Broncos 28 (chiefs struggled to win)
  • Cowboys 27 Texans 23
  • Jaguars 36 Titans 22
Moral of the story: 4 games left. NONE OF US knows what’s going to happen! It’s the NFL!

The Jags should be jumping out to everyone as they read that list. They are nowhere near as hapless as the Texans, so we better be ready to play.

was a funeral planned after a WIN?

we played poorly the middle part of the game but started great ended great =WIN

10 win season now first time in b2b seasons since 95-96, that's a positive, we have double digit wins and will be a playoff team first time since who knows how long.

clean up each game is one off, none really carry over to the other and this game has zero bearing on the jags game or the playoff team we will face..

Yes 2 dropped Tds, 4 dropped passes one gets defected into a INT by Brown ,2 cost us first downs, some poor decisions by our QB but really the entire team didn't show up in any phase..yet we won.,

you trying to tell me that other team all year had games lie this? they did how about yesterday

Mahomes 3 INT nearly lost to Denver also a BAD TEAM
MN losing to the Lions
TENN loses to Jax BIG
Bucs getting worked by a rookie qb
MIA hasnt looked good for few weeks
Bills struggled with the Jets again

earlier in the year the eagles are the measuring stick, correct?

they struggled to beat the colts the same was we did with the Texans , they also were in a fight with the Texans the first half, also struggles with the jags..Lost to Washington!

Bills had 3 game stretch of bad football

KC hasnt been perfect,

Cinci had bad stretch this year

its the NFL these things happen, we need to finish the last 4 games trying to be healthy

lets be content with a win and move on to next week, no concern here because games do not carry over IMHO

Biggest positive note from this game is the struggle shows the team itself it can't be smelling itself after a WIN...this has to be a little smelling salt going into the last 4 games that they can get beat by anyone.

What jumps out to me is any NFL team can win on any given Sunday. Who could have predicted the niners 7th round rookie QB Brock Purdy would be 16-21-185, 2 TDs and no picks against Tampa? I’m not surprised the niners won but by that score with the last player drafted last year?

So should we now assume that Brock Purdy is a stud and will not throw any picks and will lead the niners to glory each week?

A team having a bad game against a bad team should not make you feel better about yesterday.

We've played 1 good quarter out of the last 8 quarters.
A team having 1 good quarter in 2 games, and still being 2-0 while outscoring those teams 81 - 42 is maybe the most impressive statement I've ever typed out.

The expectations we have put on the Cowboys is getting out of control. In those games you have a defense that has given up a combined 9 points in the 2nd half, an offense that put up 347 yards on the ground alone. The issues have been less of a pass rush, along with a pass game that has been pretty mediocre. One of those pieces I worry about more than the other, but have confidence in both units overall.

I wouldn't assume much about Purdy, not enough is known about him, but so far, looks okay. What I would do, is look at the fact that TB is not a good football team, and really haven't been all year, and SF has been. So no, I'm not really surprised by the Niners defense absolutely dismantling them.

Agreed. And I think Parsons has an injury that has slowed him considerably.

A game yesterday was also at home! Not on the road. The wheels are starting to fall off. Stephen A is going to be a happy annoying man.

Yeah Parsons clearly isn't close to 100% right now. Good news is either the Cowboys will be in a position to pass the Eagles the last couple weeks of the season or their wont be much to play for those last couple weeks and they can rest key players.

The other piece about Parsons and the pass rush in general is it seems clear to me that this team has focused on stopping the run ever since the Green Bay game. That comes with some less explosive plays on defense, more discipline, and guys completely changing their thought process. It's not getting much attention, but they have thrived in run defense lately. As time goes on there is a good chance the Cowboys will find that happy median between playing the run and pass.
