I have stated all along that I am not crazy about Kony Ealy. I just haven't been that impressed with his quickness, even though he put up some stupendous numbers in the 3-cone drill. Watching him play, he just doesn't look sudden enough for DE.

However, I just read that Dallas likes him as a 3-tech DT. Is that really true? I'm not sure. If they do view him in that capacity though, it would certainly change the way a view him. He would indeed be very quick for a DT and with just a few more pounds, he should be ok in the run game. If he really does change directions as well as his 3-cone times indicate, it could be very good inside.

I still like other picks better, but now if Dallas does take Ealy (hopefully with a trade back), I will feel much better about it. He could play some end and some 3-tech, which would work very well with the rotation that Marinelli wants to get going on the DL.

So, while I still would much rather take Donald or Barr... if Dallas trades back into the 20's and takes Ealy, I will feel much better about it.

Don't like him there either. He's a speed bump if he's not getting the 1st step on you. I honestly don't know what the Cowboys are seeing there. It's gotta be me because I know that Marinelli and this scouting staff are much better then that.

I think they like Ealy as a DE on 1st & 2nd down, with the added bonus of having him at the 3T on passing downs - with Melton as the other pass-rushing DT.....................but, since he has lost weight since the combine (265 at his Pro Day), he's still probably in play for just DE duty alone.

If they do, wonder if they view him higher than Easley. I think I read where they think Easley can play the 3, the 1 and some DE. I think it's 50/50 they trade back up into the 1st and grab one of them if they take Barr at 16.

I've read the same, but I feel like that would be the epitome of stupid by our front office (though it's probably entirely Marinelli). That's something you might pull in RD5/6/7, not RD1. How could a scouting department even assess that?

If there's a DE I think could do it though, I'd put Crichton as that guy. Physical, powerful, low-built guy who rocks the OT backward consistently. A bit short armed for DE. Around 275 now. Just add 10-15 more pounds.

Don't like his attitude. He has the talent to excel. But I think he's a bit of a prima Donna

I would rather we just passed on the pick than take Ealy.

I could handle him in a trade down, but not at #16. Needs a lot of work on his run game.

Her's a question for you. Lets say that we do take Barr at 16 and Donald does slip to the 20s, would you consider trying to move back up into the 20s to take Donald? That would give us both Barr and Donald, which would be two very, very good pieces to work with.

Absolutely (even at the cost of our first next year). We could draft six TE's after that and I'd still be ecstatic.

That being said, I can't see both Barr and Donald going that late in this or any other world.

It's been said far too often about rookies but in the right program and with Pro training, this kid can become a beast..

COMPARES TO: Robert Quinn, St. Louis Rams - Considering that Quinn finished second in the NFL with 19 sacks in 2013, he's a tough comparison for any rookie but there is no denying Ealy's upside. He boasts the length, burst and developing technique that every scout is looking for off the edge. If he continues to develop his game, Pro Bowls are in his future.
