I know it’s been discussed but not enough.

This is the biggest gift / opportunity that has landed in the cowboys lap in as long as I can remember. Priority number one the offseason needs to be aggressively pushing the issue to acquire him. Not looking for a qb, not a wr, not a war daddy, GO GET EARL THOMAS. anything outside of a first round pick and you pull the trigger. Less than that? Cherry on top. He’s a generational player at a position of need, still in his prime on a team that is about to be forced to blow it up, thst not only WANTS to play for us, but enough to make it known in the most unthinkable of ways.

Even at a shell of his former self (which I don’t think is the case) he’d damn near single handedly fortify this promising young secondary.

Not getting him will be a failure, not trying to will be unforgivable.

Meh, when it all comes down to it money will win out and he will go to the highest bidder. FA's don't want to come here anymore as Stephen is running that show now, not Jerry, and Stephen is going to let the Brandon Carr contract dictate his thinking for the rest of his tenure........smh.

he's under contract already. so that's a non issue at least for a season and then there's the tag which isn't exorbitant at all for safeties even including berry's extension. on top of the fact that he wants to play here.

We are a players last stop on the money train. If a player is dying to get a SB after making lots of money, they usually try to go to the Patriots.

I have gotten the impression our young players talented have bounced when given he chance.

Definitely. Instant leader of the secondary and leader of the defense.

Is Seattle releasing him? If not, I don't see how this is a gift landing in our lap

If he is willing to take a little less to come home, then yes. But this team refuses to spend $ in FA so it’ll likely never happen

He has one more year on his contract.
Yeah, kept seeing all this talk about him being a free agent.

However, the Seahawks can save $8.5M (in cap room and actual money paid out) in letting him go this off-season so it is possible he will be available. He's exactly what we need back there, especially with the type of defense we attempt to play.

With this going public, if he becomes available, and we don't even try to sign him, I'd be convinced this Front Office is being hand-cuffed.

potentially given all that's going on. but the gift is his active campaigning to come play for us, and seattles current dysfunction opening the window to trade for him.

He might of said "come get me in the offseason" because he feels seattle might be looking to trade him a year before he becomes a fa and goes to dallas?

If so Id offer seattle as much as our first if i had to, this dude is on his own level. That said id try to offer byron jones, scandrick or a second

I don't know the exact drama but I read recently that "the legion of boom" are at odds w/each other and the infighting is enough that Seattle will trade or release someone. Not sure where I read that but it was before they had a more direct path to the playoffs, so.

The Seahawks have 36 players under contract for next season. They are going to be players in free agency and as already mentioned...Earl Thomas saves them $8.5M on the cap if released.

The Seahawks are going to be going into “rebuild mode” and usually high paid veterans are shown the door.

Thomas is a smart guy, he knows that he could be on the chopping block.
