What got all of you to become fans of your team? Just curious.

For me it was the 1981 season. I was 6 years old and remember the Skins losing twice to Dallas that year and getting bullied in both games. Despite going 8-3 to finish the season to finish 8-8, Dallas was a clear step ahead until the next year.

My dad (RIP) used to get very verbal during the games, particularly against the Cowboys. Neighbors could hear him down the block! That infectious energy rubbed off on me. He always used to scream "Sack The *******" while we were on defense.

Reflecting back on it now, I kind of wish I hadn't been as spoiled as I was being a Skin fan in the 80s. The last 20 years have been mostly forgettable, but games like these are what make being a loyal fan worthwhile.

my dad yelling at the TV in the early - mid 80's.

he was mad at Danny White a lot lol

Going to a Cowboys/Eagles game in '89. I was like 8. I just remember a guy behind us spilled beer on us and my friend's dad got irate.

The oldest specific memory I can remeber was getting killed by the Bears in '85. I know I watched games before that, but that is the earliest specific memory.

The 80's was the only time they had any success.

You are experiencing now what its really like to be a Skins fan.

Well the 1991 team was probably our best all around year...however at that time I remember seeing the writing on the wall for the Dallas dynasty to follow.

My earliest Cowboy recollection is SuperBowl 5 vs the Colts.

Of course we know how the game ended... And I felt bad for the Cowboys losing.

You mean when we came into RFK and ended the 11-0 run?

talking to my 3rd grade teacher about the Cowboys, it was when I started my fandom. that was 1983.

Sneaking out of my room when I was 3 or 4 and hiding behind the wall to watch the Cowboys vs. Falcons on a Monday night in 91 or 92. I was supposed to be in bed, but my dad never knew I was there. I watched the entire game :laugh2:

Other than that, when I went to my first game in Buffalo I was 6 or 7 probably. My dad and I went to a game against the Bungles just for something to do. I didn't know any better, so I wore a Cowboys hat. Some older guy, who probably should have known better, through peanut shells at me.

Steve Pelluer hitting Herschel Walker for a long pass early in what amounted to a 30-6 win over the Skins in 1986.

Cowboys vs. bills first super bowl.. i was Cowboy fan before that because of my uncle but its the first game I vividly remember.

41-35 OT win over the Commanders.

Troy Aikman delivering the killer punch with a 50 something yard strike.

I fell in love with the Cowboys in 1968. Back in the 60's the big thing on TV were the westerns. Bonanza, Gunsmoke, Big Valley, The Rifleman etc. I wanted to be a Cowboy. Most little kids wanted to be either a Cowboy or an Astronaut. (I wanted to be both).

Anyway, I was in Alexandria LA at my Aunts house with my mom visiting. My uncles said the Game was coming on. I remember him saying they were playing the Cowboys and all I heard was "cowboys". I remember seeing them on the field and they had a star on the helmet. The one thing I remember from that game was watching Don Meredith throw a long pass to Bob Hayes for a TD and my uncle yelling at the TV. The Cowboys won that day and though I don't remember it, I know that Hayes caught a second pass from Meredith that day.

From that moment on I was in love with the Star and the Cowboys. But that was my first memory as a Cowboys fan.

October 30, 1960 watching Johnny Unitas and Raymond Berry torch our defense, 45-7.

Bob Lilly beating a double team to sack Bob Griese in Super Bowl VI

I remember watching some games from 64 on but the first one I remember really well was the the first NFL Championship game against GB.

Carolina 1997 Divisional Round- don't remember much, but for some reason I remember Wesley Walls from that game.

Giants 1998 MNF @ the Meadowlands - 1st game I saw live, Garrett was QBing and Deion ran back a punt and an INT.

Vikings 1998 Thanksgiving- I was in awe of Randy Moss, and from then on I pretended to be him when we played schoolyard football in elementary school. That is of course, when I wasn't Troy Aikman playing QB :)

Cardinals 1998 Wild Card- I remember being shocked thinking "the cardinals beat us??" And That Jake the Snake was a pretty cool nickname.
