Yes and my problem with Rodgers, and why he fails repeatedly, is that he cannot accept that playing it safe does not work.

The thing about Skip and why he is driven by ego versus facts is because to understand his position all you have to understand is this: if he likes you then he will make any excuse to justify your failings and to go further he will find any reason to tear down your competition. To that end the reason he dislikes Rodgers is actually twofold: he liked Bret Favre and loves Tom Brady. The idea that Rodgers was an upgrade over Favre and could be the best QB in football during Brady's prime meant that Skip had to find reasons to tear him down. He decided he likes Brady so anyone who challenges Brady must be flawed and wrong and Brady can do no wrong.

At its core though it is ego and an inability to admit to being wrong which is , in an unfortunate way, the same problem Rodgers has and why he cannot seem to win in the playoffs. The way he won yesterday will work in the regular season but in the playoffs you have to go for the throat at every opportunity and if you play it safe you will safely lose. That is the thing Brady gets and Rodgers does not and that Rodgers seems unwilling to adapt to because he certainly has the skills and the ability to go for the finish.

I disagree. Its a team game for everybody except Rodgers. When it comes to Rodgers, he has to be Superhuman. He had to be better than anyone because for the past ten years he has had one the worst special teams and defense of any playoff team playing. I guess it was his fault the defense and special teams melted down against Seattle in the Championship game. Even in that game, he brought the team back to tie with no time on the clock only to never see the ball again. Or the fact the 49ers ran for 400 yards in two other championship games. Brady won a super bowl with Tampa BECAUSE of his championship defense. Brady won multiple super bowls in New England because he had the fortunate experience of playing for the greatest head coach of our generation who knew how to put a championship team including defense and special team together. Rodgers played most of his career for friggin Mike MCarthy who will NEVEr be known as one of the greatest of anything. It has never been ego that held Rodgers back. It was incompetent coaching, defense, or special teams. Adn BTW, the narrative that Rodgers does not admit something his fault then you are just being disingenuous. If you have not heard Rodgers admit his mistakes then you are just not listening. Even yesterday he admitted he needed to make a better throw to Aaron Jones yesterday so it would have put him in a better position to make the catch. And if they would have lost yesterday would it have been Rodgers fault. The defense played great for 3.5 quarters but then went into prevent mode the last drive. Would that have been Rodgers fault if they would have lost. He had the team in a position to win. That is all a fan can ask for. Going for the throat with the WRs the packers have right now wont end well for the Packers.
