Mods, I'm hoping maybe you could sticky this thread in the "Draft" forum so people can participate and follow as the draft comes up.

Here are a few things I'm making an early prediction on regarding the upcoming draft:

1) Julio Jones will not be taken in the Top 10 as many publications have him listed.

2) Marcel Dareus' stock will drop him out of at least the Top 15 picks.

3) Prince Amukamura will not measure anywhere close to his commonly listed 6'1" hieght (likely 5'11" max).

4) Mark Ingram will not be the first RB taken in the draft.

*Some of these aren't Earth shattering predictions, but the first ones that come off the top of my head.

What are your early predictions?

Carolina will pass on Luck

There will be no safeties taken in the 1st round

Jeffrey Demps terrorizes the NFL combine

AJ Green goes top 3

And with the 6th pick in the 2011 NFL draft, the Dallas Cowboys select Nick Fairley - DT- Auburn

who do you think will be?

Hard to say. My point isn't that player X is better than Ingram, but rather it's a comment about what Ingram isn't.

Ingram has been a tremendous college RB, but IMO he's not a can't miss prospect at the position. I don't believe he'll be anything exceptional at the combine either. I believe you'll have a prospect or two step up at the combine that teams will view as a better pro prospect and leapfrog Ingram.

Keep in mind I'm not saying Ingram will be a bad pro running back, I'm just commenting on what I think will happen come draft time.

I agree that he isn't a can't miss prospect, but right now I'd say he's the only one garunteed to go in round 1 or 2.

Mike Leshoure and LaMichael James. Maybe Daniel Thomas

I agree with this. Not sure if he is coming out but if he is, Ryan Williams out of VT will be the best RB in this draft.

That would probably be the case, and it brings flashbacks of 1990. Y'all know what happened that year.

I personally don't think James will declare. Leshoure may, but most backs his size don't go early. Big back, who's not polished as a reciever, doesn't seem like a lock to go early. I like Daniel Thomas a little more, but defineately not a lock to go in round 1 or 2

Thank you. I couldn't think of a name off the top, but Ryan Williams is a perfect player to assume the role in the scenerio I was talking about and leapfrog Ingram.

As a Hokie alum, I concur. :D Ryan Williams is an absolute beast.
