1st Round- Roquan Smith LB Georgia- All around beast. Flies around the field with athleticism and violence. Perfect MIKE in a 4-3 with range and toughness. Would be an immediate difference maker in the run stuff game and isn't a liability in pass coverage

2nd Round- Harrison Phillips DT Stanford- Former wrestler who plays with great leverage and strength as well as surprising quickness. Rarely stays blocked and in on the tackle on most every run play...as evidence that he currently leads Stanford in total tackles. 7 sacks in back to back years playing as the nose tackle for stanford.

3rd Round- Mike Gesicki TE Penn State- Good size and all around good player. Can play a big role in the passing game and run blocking. Not the sexy athlete a lot of TE's coming out nowadays are but should be a good NFL player.

4th Round- J'Mon Moore WR Mizzu- Size and speed outside WR with ability to make plays with the ball in his hands. Back to back 60 catch 1000 yard seasons with 18 total TD's in '16 & '17. I see a little Martavis Bryant in him (don't think he has any failed drug tests).

4th Round comp- Tyrell Crsoby OT Oregon- Was a prospect that had hype going into last year but missed almost the entire year with a foot injury. This year he returned with a pretty strong year. Can sometimes struggle with small speed rushers but he's solid overall in pass pro and very good in run blocking. Could be a nice RT prospect or a good backup swing tackle.

4th Round comp- Jalen Davis CB Utah State- Not the biggest CB but a smooth athlete with good ball skills. 4 year starter with a ton of experience.

5th Round comp- Rashaad Penny RB San Diego St- Big 220 power back who is very good as a 1 cut down hill runner. Averaging 7+ yards per carry for the 2nd straight year.

Penny will go way before the 5th round.
I would rather take Kerryon Johnson from Auburn. He's going to be a monster in this league and hardly no one is talking about him

Hard to say so early...theres so many talented RB's in college football and not many of them stay for their SR year. It's not crazy to think that a guy like Penny could be the 20th best RB left on the board by the time everyone is done declaring.

Martez Carter from Grambling is another guy I really like too...he's a stocky 205/210 and it looks like he floats across the field.

Great Mock. Literally, the only gripe I would even have is you thinking Ro as a MIKE instead of a WILL - I think he would be wasted at MLB. Would seriously have to bulk up.

Not a fan of Phillips.

Plus, what are you drafting him for........... 1 Tech or 3 Tech?

Not sure he's a 1 Tech in Marinelli's system. Now if we switch DCs, and go to a more attacking front like say Philly, who lets their DTs just get up field, maybe.

Kid actually just seems like a 3 Tech or even a perfect 3-4 DE.

Ummm, Marinelli runs a 1-Gap, attacking defense.

It's hard to be down on any mock with Roquan Smith as the first pick.

I am just hoping he is not the early early love child of everyone that just keeps climbing up the draft boards and by the time the draft week comes around everyone pretty much rules him out because he will be out of our range...ala Aaron McDonald one year or our current OG Cooper in his draft year and so on.

I think Phillips can play both DT positions. Like I said earlier, I’d like to see his actual weight on a scale right now. If he’s 305-310 I think he’s fine at 1 tech. You don’t see him get moved much, strong country boy with great leverage from his wrestling background.

I like the Phillips pick.

New name and like his background(wrestling aka strength/leverage) and his stats are impressive.

Marinelli uses the 1 tech as a space eater, not an up the field penetrator. The 1 Tech in his system can actually take on 2 gap responsibilities. It's why he places little value in investing real assets in the 1 Tech and prefers just using guys off the street and low round picks at the 1 tech.

I apologize. I thought he was running his 1T similar to Seattle. If that's the case, then draft Lotulelei in Round 2.

This happens every year. We fall in love with a player that we thinks in our draft pick range and next thing you know is all the media hype kicks in and that player goes top 10. I got a gut feeling that happens to R.Smith.
