Did you not see how McCown was playing in 2013 for the Bears? There is also the draft, but they decided to give Cutler a ridiculous contract until 2020.

They released McCown so they obviously didn't see him as the answer. McCown stunk in Tampa but has played better in Cleveland. Not saying I agree with the contract Cutler got but the Bears don't have a better option at QB than him.

Anyone else hate having to cheer for teams that aren't the Cowboys just to stand a chance?

I didn't say they should have kept McCown, I said they had a better option and still started Cutler once he was healthy. This is a league where you play the hot hand, McCown was playing out of his damn mind. I have no problem with Bears giving him a few years after they got him in 09, he helped them to the playoffs in 2010, but he did very little after that but throw a high number of INTs and end up with injuries.

The problem is, they never even attempted to do better with Cutler. Their loyalty to him is questionable at best.

Brandon Marshall with his 11th TD of the season. When you see him make some of he plays he does makes you wonder why he keeps bouncing around the league. Too much of a head case.

If McCown was a better option they wouldn't have released him and resigned Cutler. McCown was a bust in Tampa lasting only one season. It's hard to find solid starting QBs teams don't make them available especially a QB that has an arm like Cutler.

I will say this... if no one offers Cousins a starting job next year (he hasn't been winning at Washington and I don't see him being in that big of demand) we should look at him to be our backup.

He will be resigned with the Commanders. Guaranteed. I'd say 4 year 50 million w 10 mil signing bonus.

With 4 games to play he has completed 69% of his passes, thrown 3006 yards, 17 Tds 10 ints and QBR 93. That will get him a contract in this league.

I think plenty of teams would jump on Cousins if he were made available he's shown potential and is still developing. Looking at Washington's QB situation I don't see them releasing him. RG3 will be on the street before Cousins.
