Players generally aren't that inconsistent. If a player holds a lot, they hold a lot.

It just means the referees are inconsistent how they call plays game to game. One crew is different from another.

The sickening part is that it is so random and it ruins the integrity of the game.

Exactly! Human nature is human nature. It's well known with baseball umpires, but fact that NFL refs have inherent tendencies is not considered near enough. The fact that the Cowboys' offensive opponents went 7 consecutive games last year without a holding call should make any sane person realize that. As was so eloquently said in Ghostbusters, it just ain't natural.

Jason Garrett’s teams very rarely get blown out. For all his faults he almost always has his team in position to win the game in the 4th quarter.

His problems have been the game management once he gets them into those situations.
