I don’t think the NFL is scripted.

But we have all witnessed refs let things go for teams trying to come back and call ticky tack **** on teams that have a lead.

I didn't see the clock countdown but the clock is allowed to touch zero while the ref looks away from the clock to the Center to see if "the ball is in the process of being snapped." If so, then they let it go. So that's like a half second grace period built into the rule.

Yeah that call vs us was crazy. So was the PI vs Pickens.
