You dont need two space eaters though. If we brought Payne in, we would be much weaker at 3T than we are at 1T. We would have Odighizuwa, and a player in Gallimore who was barely ahead of the 3T we just cut. In fact, if we signed Payne, id take Gervon Dexter in the 1st. 6'6, 310 but would probably play ar 315-320 in the pro's. Can play 3T and 4i. A cross between Michael Brockers and a poor mans Cam Heyward

They have to get better on the interior. Maybe it comes in FA. Put teams into passing situations and this team can beat anyone. Tomlinson, Hargrove, and Ridgeway are FA’s that could help next year.

I actually like our 3T rotation, just hate our 1T rotation.

I was high on big Bo but he hasn’t made much difference this year.

The 1T is definitely the problem. They need to have a different approach when it comes to that position.

A top tier 1Tech would make all of the 3techs better.

When reviewing Hankins games with the Cowboys, the most obvious issue that I noticed was Odighi looked his best on snaps when Hankins was the other DT.

Having said that, a run stuffer like Hankins, even if Hankins was at his peak, does not have a high value in recent years. Good run stuffer type sign for cheap in free agency if they're not also pass play disruptors.

If we can add another quality 3T to go with Payne and Odighizuwa, the amount of packages amd alignments we throw out there grows significantly. Especially of the want to utilize a 4i

Yes, Payne is the ideal modern 1tech...i.e. A 3 down player. He averages 86% of snaps played.

Most 1tech types play less than 70%.

Every mock I've seen has Porter (CB) going in the top 20. I can't say I know because I don't rate college prospects and only go off of what I hear but our 2nd round pick will be in the 50's.

I like the OP draft but this is the part I can’t get over…Porter will go top 20.
I also don’t like letting both of our RBs go. We could cut Zeke, pay Pollard and still have money left over bc I don’t think Pollard gets more than 10m per…

Early stab at a mock and some off-season moves.

Cowboys lose in FA: Schultz, LVE, AB, Pollard to FA and cut Zeke.
Cowboys add in FA: Daron Payne (DT), Terrance Steele (extension), Rashaad Penney

Round 1 - Broderick Jones (OT) - Battle tested SEC OT with G experience. Allows Smith to kick back inside where he is best suited and gives us a a new pair of OLmen to build around.

Round 2 - Joey Porter Jr. (CB) - long, lanky CB that fits the mold that fit's Quinn target. Enjoying a breakout year at PSU with a 59 QBR when targeted and 0 TDs allowed. Plug and play for losing AB in FA.

Round 3 - Keondre Cobrun (NT) - big NT from UF who is a run stop machine.

Round 4 - Zach Charbonnett (RB) - explosive size/speed RB from UCLA that can do it all.

Rough rookie year for Tolbert but I'm still high on him developing into WR3 for next year and hoping Clark can turn into our starting MLB.
