I think any supplemental pick(s) was already shot when the Kansas City Chiefs released Zach Thomas.

A team has to lose more free agents than they sign to even be eligible for consideration to receive a compensatory selection.

This rumor has already been shot down. Canty is 1-2 weeks away. The Giants have mismanaged a couple of hamstring injuries (part of the reason why Ross has been out for so long) this year. That's why they are being extra cautious with Canty.
