It was outdated then also ...... been outdated since every player is a millionaire.Playing football did not require a second job when Parcells was coaching the Cowboys.
Problem with wooden Nickle hurry before they’re gone. Lol."Earning the star" now is the equivalent of earning a wooden nickle.
So ever since they started getting paid, they don’t have to give 100%.It was outdated then also ...... been outdated since every player is a millionaire.
How the hell is bringing Parcells gatorade giving 100% ....... its just an excuse to haze rookies ....... you must be one of those gyys who change the goalposts with every post.So ever since they started getting paid, they don’t have to give 100%.
The players have to earn the star! This wasn't just a Mike McCarthy thing, this was a Jimmy Johnson thing and before him a Tom Landry thing. It's okay if the highly talented rookies don't start with the (1's) at practice. They will rise to the top if they earn it. BS as the new HC has to work these guys hard and give them a chance to differentiate themselves from the average Joes. So, hell yes, they should earn the star. It works and its tradition. With Mike gone are we still going to do the earn the Star mess, or are we going with the best available player. For example when we drafted Micah, I can remember he didn't run with the first team in practice they kind of eventually put him in. With more recently Guyton being here last season, our first round pick was way behind Eduga. Some of us feared that he may be the starter, he ended up being the starter his first game of the season vs Cleveland.
With Booker here is he the plug and play guard to be put in the first day of mandatory and camp as our starter, or do you think he takes a back seat for a bit??
I understand there has to be competition and all that, but I think we need to just let these guys get in, get valuable reps and get to work, instead of letting them practice against guys who may not make the team??
Booker day one needs to go against Mazi and OSA, etc etc!
Please give your thoughts on earning the star
Well, thank you for clarifying because I didn’t know what the heck you were talking about. I thought you were saying once they get paid they quit. How the hell is bringing Parcells gatorade giving 100% ....... its just an excuse to haze rookies ....... you must be one of those gyys who change the goalposts with every post.
Agreei like it, but it doesn't seem to matter...id say get rid of all that kind of crap that never made a difference and try a new approach - definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over but expecting different results.
Post of the day!!!Yeah things are different these days, and none of that in itself is going to change the attitude of anyone.
But fear not, this strong-willed HC with a credible resume is going to come on in and “change the culture.” Grrrrrrr. Muscle flex.
That’s like me saying the current in the Atlantic Ocean runs the wrong way, and I’m going to jump in and fix it.
There will be no culture change until Jerry quits undermining the staff, forming relationships with players, talking to the media about HC stuff, and a very long ‘etc’ list. It’s the only reason he is here….for the attention! That’s not changing, and neither is the “culture.”
I don’t feel bad for Shoddy because he got a bump in pay and wasn’t getting a HC gig anywhere but here, but he has little chance of success.
(Not directed at you specifically Brass just got on one of my Jerry rants. Happens daily. I miss my Cowboys)
Loooooooooooool Guyton earned it and he's not good yet so why do it lol"Earning the star" now is the equivalent of earning a wooden nickle.
Poor coog, he doesn't know much, that's why he's always asking for thoughts.
Exactly how do you know how good he will be in September?Guyton earned it and he's not good yet
coog- these guys are beating you up today. Whats up with that? I mentioned you in another thread today but I don't know how to do that thing so you get alerted. Can't remember the thread either. Maybe the Florio threadLoooooooooooool Guyton earned it and he's not good yet so why do it lol
If he knows more than what he puts on, he must walk around naked.I think he knows more than he puts on. I think he just tries to stay out of the agenda battle. But who knows for sure. Only the cog knows.
thanks for sharing your thoughtsIf he knows more than what he puts on, he must walk around naked.
Try not to think about that one, too much! Lolthanks for sharing your thoughts

Earning the star doesn't equate to anything required to become champions. With Mike gone are we still going to do the earn the Star mess, or are we going with the best available player.
