So about 6:30 am I was getting up to let the dogs out when I heard a loud boom and the ground jolted violently for about 5 seconds. Initial reports were a 4.7 but they down graded it to a 4.4 like they always do! Anyways it was our largest earthquake since our 94 Northridge quake. They say we have a 5% chance of a bigger quake in the next 3 days. Fun stuff! But reminded me that even though I'm really prepared for it there is a lot more I could do to be prepared. Wish the RV wasn't in storage just incase. Anyone else from LA feel it?

4.4 is pretty wimpy, maybe enough to knock stuff off shelves?

Prepared like, you have some extra water/food in case the power goes out, or you are planning for the end of the world?

Food, water, propane heaters, BBQ, flash lights all earthquake wrenches for gas shut off and water shut off. I have my RV if we are displaced for a few days. Like during the Northridge quake we were not allowed in our house until it was inspected and that took 5 days. My town is where the freeways collapsed. My sister is handicapped so she is also part of my plan to get to her group home where she lives. So yes I'm very prepared for them. My family makes fun if me because of my obsession with flats lights and coolers and stuff. But I would rather be in a position of being over prepared.

I think that is fair, I don't live in California, and just thought of wild fires and such.

Yeah, this is the first real earthquake I felt. Been here for 4 years and lived here in 1990-2 and never felt one. I'll be happy to cross it off the list and not be longing to feel a harder one. I was about 6 miles away from the epicenter. Living on a hill.

But then I noticed it was cold and snowing on the east coast again and went on with my day

I'm in Valencia, but been staying at my Grandmas house in Lake Balboa till it sells because I'm doing a lot of remodel on it. But you will only cross it off your list till the next one.
