I haven't been all that impressed with McCarthy and the noted "Culture Change" within the team, nor had I been that impressed with the overall defense, as I said they were living off TOs.
Well, tonight, as a Cowboys Fan, I'm here to tell you I could indeed be wrong.
McCarthy managed the clock well, and got the most out of this team with the Backup QB (kudos to Kellen Moore too).
And I'm most impressed with how well the entire defense played. The tackling was superb, the coverage was solid, and damn near lock down-ish in the 2nd half. And the pass rush grew relentless as the game went on deep into the 4th quarter. They played their butts off, every down...and Micah Parsons, just wow. He's an incredible rookie talent. Looks like a veteran out there. Awareness is in the 90s! And the entire defensive line played well, with key run stops and disruptions. And besides some bonehead penalties, Gregory is relentless.
So, OK, McCarthy and the Cowboys, call me a Believer now. Culture Change? OK, I'm starting to truly see it. And Quinn and that defense? Yessss! That's how you play defense. And we finally have safeties!!!!! Wooohooo!!!!! Actually, now we have more than 2 good ones. HOW DID THAT HAPPEN? Front Office, I have to applaud you.
Honestly, this game, it's the best this defense has looked in many years to my eyes. Congrats Quinn.
I had my doubts about this team, even at 5-1. But this team, it feels...well, different.
One last huge kudos goes to Amari....for still showing how much they can count on him when the game is on the line.
And Wilson? What a solid WR (and QB). Hec, this team has so much talent on offense, it's an abundant of riches. 2 solid TEs, 5 really good WRs (yes, you too, Noah), 2 really good RBs, a dominating offensive line, and Dak. My goodness! Let's give the front office some credit, a LOT of credit.
