Apparently he wasn’t the only voice raised in the locker room at halftime, but the head coach certainly got his point across.

Roy Williams said he was surprised by the eye-opening lecture from the usually mild-mannered head coach.

“I was like, ‘wow,’” Williams said. “He was getting after us a little bit. That’s good.”

Phillips was obviously upset with the mental mistakes that led to a 7-0 deficit. But the other leaders were voicing their displeasure as well. Tony Romo admitted to getting after the offensive players at halftime, but I’m sure he was rather frustrated with himself, too.

"Nobody was happy with the first half," said Terence Newman. "There were a lot of people upset about what was going on. But we turned it around."

The defense responded with four straight three-and-outs to start the second half. The offense scored 14 points and got some help from the defense, too.

Doesn’t hurt to get a little kick in the ace every once in a while.

I glad to hear that, they had no energy in the first half.

I heard that after the game. Wade down played it at the post game when a reporter asked him about going off in the locker room. What ever took place it was a differance of night and day when looking at the 1st half and 2nd half of this game

This is totally what is needed, the head coach must always get onto the players when need be and leaders must step up and voice their anger too.

Let's hope he doesn't have to do that much anymore and the players take care of business on the field. Good to know it is there if needed.

It is important that he has the attention of his players, Wade is still going to be laid back with the media that is who Wade is. I think there is a perception that Wade has never gotten after a team I seriously doubt as a coach of over 30 years he has not went off on a team before. I think Wade will always try and treat players like men after all that is what they are but yes there are times you need to lower the boom on them to grab their attention

When Wade dropped his head after Denver's TD to end the half, I was thinking to myself 'this is no way to lead men.' But he did go in and give them a piece of his mind. I feel better now. Wade always has that confused look on his face, but his record with the Cowboys is 24-12 (67%). It could be a lot worse -- he knows a little something about football. I hope the Cowboys get on a roll now.

We dont know how Wade is in the locker room......

He might of yelled at them last year too during halftime of games that they were struggling...

Its good to see some players trying to be accountable.....maybe its a sign......heopefully this team will grow and some players step up as leaders....

btw....little disappointed in Ware this year........his play has been ok..but his body language seems low key....I thought he was going to try to be that leader on this defense

too late for what?

too late for "Wade to be learning" first of all, and too late to try and get this team pumped up

shouldn't that have happened, say, in the playoffs 2007?

just sayin

It was alot bigger hangover from the Gspots game than I anticipated. I can see one quarter of being flat...but the whole first half? Ridiculous.....

I hate that crap. He does that multiple times. He did it last night after Carolina scored a TD.

Bingo, you hit the nail on the head! Congratulations! Wade will always try and treat players like men, I think like at the end of last year, wade finally realizes that some of these players you cant treat them like men. As the old saying goes, the players take on the personality of the team. If your laid back and try to treat players like men, so will the players. The players wont hold players accountable. But what happened that changed? Wade got onto the players last night, then Tony Romo, Witten got onto the players too. Not sure what dallas defender got onto his defensive teammates, but on radio last night, a defender got onto the players like romo and witten did tooo.

Thats what is needed for this team to change and grow!

I don't expect Wade to turn into the next Mike Ditka nor does he have to. Wade has to get through to his team they have to buy into him not the public, the media or the fans the players do. We will see how this team responds to Wade as the season goes on. I think it a bit of a joke to see people complain that Wade put his head down because of a bad play or he looked confused? Wade has been doing this before many around here were born and has coached some outstanding defenses. It is one thing to have opinion we all have them but I think Wade has more than a clue as to what is going on. The only question is will the players buy into what Wade wants out of them

Hopefully, the Cowboys can keep it going now that they have a little taste of inspired football.

That was a very good half of football, all around.
