They can put him on pup is what I'm saying and you don't risk another team signing him and doesn't count against 53 roster. That way if Dunbar has another season ending injury you can get Mcfadden after week 6McFadden is on the NFI since he got hurt in a non-football related accident...they don't have to pay him while he is out or if they cut him...they will have to make a decision if he is healthy enough to practice before the season starts...
Ya I don't get why people want McFadden over Dunbar or Jackson. Dude is over priced and we have cheaper and younger guys that can do what he does or even better
And Morris fits the style of blocking for the Cowboys, very well.Morris began the year as a starter and lost out, averaged less than four a carry. Mcfadden didn't begin as a starter and did more. He was better last year.
McFadden doesn't create anything and doesn't break tackles. Murray had 900 yards untouched in 2014 and got almost 1,000 after contact.....Mcfadden got less then 200 yards after contact. He was a 1,000 yard rusher(barely) and wasn't impressive. We have 3 backs that can give you that and more.Mcfadden recorded 1400 yards starting 10 games last season, he has versatility and is proven over Dunbar and Jackson.. Dont think either can do what Mcfadden did last season. I dont get how there is zero appreciation for what Mcfadden did last season. With that said this is a what have you done for more lately league so if he cant get on the field it will make it harder to find a spot.
An 'embarrassment of riches' at the position, no doubt. In a perfect world, I'd very much like to keep all five of them!
But, in my opinion, barring a late injury, I don't think McFadden has a role on this team anymore. I think they do keep 4 - Elliott, Morris, Dunbar, and Jackson, and I feel they will either keep McFadden on PUP (in case of injury), trade him if they can, or release him as a last resort.
How about you? What's your opinion on it?
I would go Zeke/Morris, Dunbar, and Jackson. McFadden's age and skill set don't necessarily lend him to the roster over the others.
I don't know if anybody would be willing to trade for McFadden or Dunbar. We also have to see if Dunbar still has the same skills he had before...
In a way, Dunbar doesn't even count as a RB, either -- more of that slot WR/scat back role...a Beasley type that can carry it from the backfield. In that case, do you keep Dunbar as a 5th RB/6th WR??
I don't know...tough decisions to make. But if I'm keeping players, I'm going with youth (Zeke/Jackson) and the obviously proven veteran in Alfred Morris. I wish there was a way to keep McFadden around, because he's a good guy and good teammate.
I'm with you, it's a shame to see McFadden get caught in the numbers game, especially coming off of the season he had. But that's what I expect to happen.
I'm I'm taking a crack at the roster, this is what I've got.
