IRVING, Texas – Say what you want about Jerry Jones calling the shots in the War Room. But something is changing.

Maybe Jerry has altered his approach. Maybe people like Stephen Jones and/or Will McClay have a louder voice than ever before.

We’ll likely never know the exact dynamic or if there is any change at all. But the fact is, the results are different.

I absolutely agree with this article. I would have strongly criticized Jerry and the Cowboys if they had taken Manziel - the flash pick - over Martin - the safe, solid, smart pick.

And now that they've done what I feel us the right thing, I will praise them.

They now have what I believe is at least 3 out of 5 offensive line positions likely set for the next several years.

I wanted investments made in the trenches for years and the team is now doing just that.

And for that, they earn this fan's praise.

Picking Johnny Manziel would’ve allowed the Cowboys steal the headlines Friday morning. Picking Martin allows the Cowboys to a better football team Friday morning.
Exactly right. We have a new Jerry this off season.

On that same note, did anyone watch the press conference?

Jerry, when talking about past picks and getting good OL players in the 2nd and later, said "apparently you can't do that anymore" and gave a sly wink.

Pretty indicative to me.
