D-Coordinator Matt Eberflus deserves a game ball for the Cowboys blowout victory at the Jets, 37 - 22.

Eberflus listened to the masses of upset Cowboys fans and his players, and he mixed a lot of man-to-man coverage with some of his trademarked zone defense, along with constantly bringing the heat and blitzing the opposing QB at times with only 4 down stunting D-linemen. After 3 quarters, Eberflus' D had only given up 6 points. Yes, the Jets finished with 22 points, but 16 of those points were in 4th quarter garbage time after the game was long over with.

As much as Coach Eberflus deserved criticism the past 4 games for stubbornly sticking to only a zone defense, one has to give him full credit for changing his defense up all game long today against the Jets and literally shutting them down to only 6 points given up after 3 full quarters.

Way to go, Coach Eberflus! Keep it up!

Fields had a 100 QBR.

He sucks, and statistically, he still did very nicely against our porous pass defense. The LBs (his "specialty") may be the worst group we've had in years. Only an injury prevented him from still forcing Sanborn onto the field.

Eberflus is still a stubborn jackwagon of a DC and should be replaced tomorrow.

….

He can get half of a game ball…..

Im still sour on him

One could argue that knowing in advance our team was better personnel-wise at Man and stubbornly sticking to zone this long is enough to condemn him. It was the Jets, the worst team in the NFL. That being said, it was an improvement. They finally didn't make the other offense look like a showcase of pro bowlers. We'll see how it goes.
