You would not be saying that if you actually watched any Bear games last season, they were laughably bad on defense.

Official ranking was 27th...................we were 28th...................so I guess we upgraded by like 1%?

You call that a good hire?
Good news, it’s more than triple the upgrade listed. 3.5% increase, winning

Jerry just doesn’t care anymore. Throwing crap at a wall and seeing if it sticks.

He's not a sexy DC hire but the more I research his results, especially as a defensive coordinator, he's good. It appears he's in the Wade Phillip or Norv Turner mold, not a good HC but a very good defensive coordinator.

Keep in mind......we NEED PLAYERS. I'm not saying we need 11 pro bowlers but let's make sure he has the right kind of players for his scheme.

Marinelli also had very little experience as a playcaller when he got here. Eberflus is a significantly better DC than Marinilli was. This is more akin to get Quinn in 2021 than getting another Marinelli. This a good hire if it holds. I just want good coaches. I don't care what scheme they run
I hate the scheme, wanted this defense to add bigger personnel to be able to handle the run better, this is back to the same small quick twitch fronts to play the run on the way to the qb

He will also be in charge of end of game clock management.
....it's good to have friends in the right places.....now we can really blame Micah Parson after he gets his new contract for the DC's exploits.

He's a good DC but we need something that will move the needle. Schotty's top 10 offense in Seattle however many years ago and Eberflus's top 10 defense in Indy however many years ago doesn't do much for a defense that gave up a billion yards on the ground and is going to be starting rookies at practically every position because we don't sign or resign free agents

He helped develop a lot of players here

Players developed by Eberflus while coaching at the Cowboys

  • DeMarcus Ware: A Pro Bowl linebacker who played for the Cowboys
  • Anthony Spencer: A Pro Bowl linebacker who played for the Cowboys
  • Sean Lee: A linebacker who finished his career as one of the best in the team's history
  • Rolando McClain: A player who excelled under Eberflus and made 97 tackles in 2015
  • Jaylon Smith: A player who earned 81 tackles in his first season on the field in 2016

He needs to super coach Sam Williams and M Neeland to be DE terrors to compliment Micah. Having three young ++ pass rushers will create more turnovers.
