MI = Michael Irvin
KK = Kevin Kiley
EW = Ed Werder

EW - both team have a lot at stake

EW - Brees was saying that he felt they would play their best and the Cowboys would too and he smirked as to suggest that they will win if that happens.

KK - They are beat up, especially on defense

EW - this has been the case for the past month, beat the patriots, Moss and Brady were done with 5 minutes to go in that game

EW - you not only have to play against the defense but their offense. anytime you dont score, it could be a turning point. much like the rams teams under mike martz, they are so prolific in scoring

EW - Sean Payton has got Gregg Williams who is like him on defense and they come at you when you have the ball and have to deal with the crowd

MI - when you look at them, as a Saints player what would worry you

EW - nothing the cowboys do would concern me. Seems like they have the personell to dominate the time of possesion but i dont thinik it is a concern because the Saints offense is so good

EW - Dallas is a good team but saints have outscored them by 170 points and the Cowboys have not scored more than 24 points in last 6 games

EW - you wouldn't expect the Cowboys to admit defeat, but i think they can beat the Saints but i think the score is going to be lopsided and perceptions about the Cowboys, the lack of leadership etc etc will be reenfored

EW - Sean Payton has a personal interest. Some of the Saints playerss said it is noticiable in practice. A coach on the Saints told me they put a w on that game because they know the coach doesn't want to lose that game. Last time they played they destroyed the Cowboys

KK - Yeah, Parcells was out coached that game

MI - yeah, they threw it to the Fullback everytime

KK - The Saints struggled their last 2 games, any weight to that

EW - Darren Sharper acknowedged that they have to play better but both those games were on the road and they almost lost to a backup QB. If I was Wade Phillips I would point that out to the Cowboys. However, the Saints offense just has not let up.

Every team is going to have let down games especially on the road. When they come focused they are a beast.

The comment about Brees smirking at the end of the espn segment is very disconcerting.

Pretty interesting that they penciled in a W even before the Season started.

I have the last game we played against them on DVD, may break it out today or tomorrow as I cannot remember anything about the game, I just know we got blew out.

Regardless, the Cowboys have obviously heard about the W being penciled in and the smirk, so it is their job to wipe it off Drew Brees' face.

Julius Jones opened the game with a 77 yard TD run

it all went downhill from there.

When I go home from break, I may pop it in but it will probably ruin my lunch.

Michael Irvin said they killed us by throwing to the Fullback. That must have been that stretch of games where we couldn't seem to cover the Fullback.

They are nfl royalty.

there is no reason for us to even get on the plane friday.

The saints are superbowl champions already. Just listen and read the stuff brees has been saying this week.

Everyone else in the league and what they do is academic....the saints have it all. They are royalty.

they are just laughing at the rest of the league.

If you're a *****. :eek::

We can beat the Saints. We might not, because theyr'e a very good team, but we're not at their mercy and we can beat them straight-up at home.

I think Karney had three TD's in the game.

If I remember correctly they forced Ellis to cover the flat.It was a disaster,dump pass to the fullback with Ellis in pursuit.I think may have even ran a screen or two with the fullback.

Oh I'm no *****! I was just relating to what Mike was saying. Usually Mike is a cheerleader for the Cowboys , but I'm not getting that feel from him today.

I wish I could say I had confidence in a Cowboys victory, however they haven't shown anything to suggest Saturday will be different from the last two games... Hang in there but no victory.

Agreed. It really doesn't matter who says what...they have to go out and take the game over and dominate it. I'm sure they'll play hard...it's loked like they have all year, but the Defense can't let it get away from 'em.

I mean at the very least how many times this season have the Cowboys been blown out? That's why I don't buy these 28 point butt kickings everyone is predicting. Cowboys will be in it. Whether they win or not will depend on if they are going down field and getting td's or going down field and getting field goals or missed field goals.

Payton was the first to exploit it. Everyone else just copied that part of his game plan.

Exactly. If the players had Irvin's attitude we would never win another game. That was sarcasm by the way.

This game can be won. I expect to be in the game at the very least.
the big difference between them and us is that when they need to take control of a game they do, whereas we have never shown any of that ability this year.
the second they hit us for a couple of big scores we will pack it in although it will appear as though we are really trying
I would hope that just one time we get the lucky bounce that the other teams always seem to get when they play us

I expect this game to be like the 2007 game against the Patriots. We hang tough through the first half, maybe even take the lead, then get blown away in the 4th quarter and lose by multiple TDs. :(

I don't think it will be close at all. The Saints passing attack will obliterate the Dallas defense. Romo will throw a couple of picks trying to keep pace and New Orleans will quickly convert those into touchdowns. My guess is the Cowboys will be down by fourteen or more headed to halftime. The remainder of the game will see the Saints running the majority of the time to move the clock and preserve a comfortable victory.

Dallas is done for '09. After the Saints kick their tails all over the place there'll be no recovery. The offseason begin, for all intents and purposes, Sunday morning.

That was a line from Ed Helms an old Daily Show re-run about a law banning firearms in bars that always get stuck in my head for some reason. I can't find the clip, but I think it's the one that included the line: Alcohol causes conflicts, firearms resolve conflicts. Funny bit, though.
