I know we are all upset but here is some good news.

ESPN's Ed Werder confirms the Cowboys seem confident Tony Romo only suffered a muscle contusion during Monday night's loss to the Commanders.
Romo took a direct hit to the area where his back was twice surgically repaired, but that's not how you injure a disc. He just has a bruise near the site of the surgeries, leaving the main concerns as pain tolerance and functional ability. Romo is sure to be very sore this week and will likely need injections in the short-term to keep playing. He said late Monday night that since he was able to come back into Monday's game, he believes he'll be able to play against the Cardinals in Week 9

When I saw the knee hit I figured it couldn't be more than a bruise.

Putting him on the shelf for two weeks (bye coming up) to heal up has to be strongly considered.

I agree all we can do is hope. Last night is what it is, they lost to a team that was clearly better prepared to play. Losing Durant already is bad enough they need to have their QB in place moving forward. The only thing that concerns me about last night is I felt like I was watching a team from the past few years. I hope this young team just came in overconfident and were reminded every week you got to bring your A game. Anyway hopefully the news on Romo keeps getting better throughout the day.

I say continue on as usual. Give him Wednesday off(IIRC) which allows him to heal and Weeden to get more reps. If his back is ok, let him start this week.

We've got a huge game on Sunday. We need him out there.

Something to consider is how the Cardinals play their defense. They blitzed the Eagles a lot on Sunday. It's a sure repeat for us. Romo will probably play, but if he is going out there banged up and not mobile, that's a recipe for season ending disaster.

If they'd won last night I think that you might have that conversation.

They can't afford to put their franchise QB on the shelf if he's able to play against the Cards.

We need to hit the screens and keep their defense honest.

His 2 surgeries were a microdiscectomy and a cyst removal, neither of which would of been aggravated by a knee. The twisting and running is more likely to cause him issues.

Make sure Linehan joins him

No, put him in another room and have him look at all of Murray's success this season then the 2-3, 3-3 and 4th and 3 plays over and over again to the sound of clown music

But apparently both surgeries were in the exact same spot...stupid media.

I'll admit, I'm a nervous wreck and that won't change until we know for sure that he is OK.
I just keep thinking about last year in Washington, we all thought he was alright, he even did his normal post game press conference and 5 days later he needed surgery.
