I saw Payback at the theater. I thought it was "OK". He has a whole host of other movies that where far better than Payback.

I read an article a while back that said Mel Gibson was originally offered the role of Maximus in Gladiator.

He turned it down because he thought he was too old.

I saw it last night. I really liked it. Good movie to spend time watching. Nothing special though, typical Mel cop movie. But I liked it

Yeah, Ransom was pretty good.

I read an article a while back that said Mel Gibson was originally offered the role of Maximus in Gladiator.

He turned it down because he thought he was too old.

He probably could have made Gladiator work but I think it was right actor, right movie and right time for Crowe.

Djimon was awesome in that movie also.

There are numerous likable qualities in Mel Gibson. Unfortunately, he battles a number of inner demons.

Regardless, no contemporary revenge thriller will ever compare to the original:
