Hey, another Zeke thread! Sorry gentlemen, but I want to throw this out there as a legit question.

There’s no doubt that the team isn’t as good without Zeke, but regardless, we’re losing him for 6 weeks. Let’s say, for the sake of argument, we go 4-2 during that stretch - entirely possible.

That would put us at 9-5 headed into two games with Seattle and Philly, then presumably on to the playoffs.

My question is whether you think the 6 games of downtime will be a good or a bad thing for Zeke when he returns?

Zeke has been carrying the workload, so entering the playoffs with fresh legs could be a coup d’etat, provided the team stays in playoff contention during that time.

On the downside, he could get out of shape, out of rhythm and need time to get back into the swing of things.

So what say you? Will Zeke be back fresh and punish the league or will the downtime have a negative impact?

I think he will stay in shape no matter what... what worries me is that he can't even practice with the team in that time. That could get him badly out of teams groove which could pose a lot of issues down the stretch.

Lol. We aren't making the playoffs, even WITH Zeke.
Ummm if the season ended today we would and with the Seahawks losing Sherman I don't see them making a run for anything (Rams clean up that division easily). If not us than who?

My opinion is that if Dallas is still in playoff contention by the time Elliott's suspension clears, they will have evolved offensively.

If they are rolling doing something other than their identity with Elliott, I am not certain that they can just gear down like nothing happened, nor would I expect them to if the changes are working.

Will come back 20lbs over weight and will take 2-3 weeks to get back to form.

I am not sure the weight thing is going to happen, but losing the time being in sync with his line is a bigger issue

Dallas needs to play like a team scorned. Take it out on every team in it's path. End it with Goodell handing the trophy to Jerry and the MVP to Zeke.

I'll take that sentiment and raise you Jason "it's a process" Garrett

I say this every year, but it's pointless to look toward the future in the NFL. You have to take advantage of your current opportunities because you might not get one again. We said this all throughout the Romo era. "We had a great season. Just wait till next year." We even said this last year in Dak's rookie year. "Just wait till these guys get a few more years experience."

Bottom line is, we have to try to win now. Many things can change next year. Success is never a given. We lucked out with Jonathon Cooper and La'el Collins. No guarantee that we'll get lucky enough to continue dominating on the O-line by replacing 40% of our starters every year. Cooper and Collins could very well play themselves off our team sooner than later. Same goes with Lawrence and Irving. We finally seem to have a dominant pass rush and our two young studs happen to be in contract years. And Sean Lee isn't getting any younger.

To save yourself from constant disappointment, just always assume that we're gonna suck next year. That'll force you to try to make the most out of the present.

I'm too am worried how this might effect him mentally. If there's one plus its that there is a possibility he could return after 4 games. That might keep him more focused then if he was out for the 6 games. 6 games and his season as well as the Cowboys season might be over. I'm hoping the team takes on the us against the world mentality and use this as a really cry.

If we go 6-0, then we will get threads to trade Zeke for D stuck up our butt for 6 months.

And the Jalen Ramsey truthers would be insufferable.
