I will have to try the Gillette Fusion. I've used Mach 3s since way back when. Right now I have some four blade razor that I got in the mail as a trial. I notice little difference between it and the Mach 3.

I will give the Fusion a try next time I buy a razor.

Quit shaving and let your inner man come out.

Grow that beard.

However if you do have to shave...don't go all high tech and crazy over some hair...be a real man and use a simple razor blade, a straight razor or if you want to be hard core...

Actually, I use one of these.

I use it on the lowest setting with no guard. It trims the beard down to somewhere around a 16th to a 32nd of an inch. (about like not shaving for two maybe three days) Then I use my razor to clean up around my neck and face.

It appears that I am starting to get the salt and pepper look in my beard. I may have to start shaving completely. Not sure I like that idea. :laugh2:

I will tell you a strange study I read some 20+ years ago...

8% of adult men use electric razors... 70% of adult men with leukemia use/used electric razors. I wish I could find that study.

The premise was that the forcing of the metal into the skin from the rotating blades was entering the bloodstream and causing leukemia. Leukemia was been linked to metals in the blood stream.

Just sayin'...

That being said, I did use a Norelco shaver for a couple of years. It will take some time for your face to get used to it, but it WILL offer a close shave once you get used to it. I also used a stick powder as a pre-shave...

I now use a brush and shaving soap with a safety razor in the shower. I use only Feather brand blades as they are incredibly sharp. Great shave and a tribute to old school...

I buy all of my supplies from Lee's Safety Razors. My wife borrowed my razor to shave her legs one time. She liked it so much she bought her own safety razor...

That killed any chance of me ever using one.

I do have a trimmer but just for my mustache and sometimes use it on the sideburns...other than that I hate to shave so I just don't.

Getting some grays myself...but I don't mind it. Beard is real nice this time of year.

Speaking of which...it is really snowing pretty good in my neck of the woods right now, just hope it does not start sticking to the roads.

So true, so true! This has got to be the best blade on the market. Nothing is even CLOSE (PUN).

nyc - Get this version. You want the Powered Fusion. You can pick it up for about 10-11$. That INCLUDES the battery  ANDDDD a free blade  .

Check it out !!!

Also to reiterate what ABQ said you can go on Amazon or especially a site like slickdeals.net and just search for the blades , I ended up buying a whole new one for $3. You usually can get on and find out when Amazon just breaks out their own in store(amazon only) coupon for like 4 or 5 bucks off of any Gillette product-limit one.

I will have to watch for those coupons and look around for better deals on the blades.

The blades last a good while but DANNNNNG are they expensive.

I've used a Mach 3 since they came out, but I guess I'm behind the times now. I'll give the Gillette Fusion Power a try. I used an electric for about a week and couldn't stand that the shave is not close.

Do you guys use the razors to shave your chests too? If so, wouldn't that take a long time compared to an electric?

The Fusion Pro Glide is what I've been using lately. I like it.

I've also used the Shick Hydro. It's just about as good.

Neither of these are electric. :D

you obviously didn't watch the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show where the guys who were there as foils to the hot girls were all shaved. Trust me, once you have shaved as I started doing in the summer, you will never go back.
