norm hitzges brought him up in the postgame radio.

norm said there were people in the organization who drafted him early expecting demarco to be the starting running back and moving felix back into the change of pace role.

there were fans on here who thought at the least he would be the 3rd down back and leave Choice out of the loop.

we heard about his receiving threat out of the backfield.

well in a game where the cowboys had pretty good success running the ball and featured several screen plays to tight ends and dump off passes to running backs (particularly the aforementioned Choice), Demarco was virtually a nonfactor.

what are your thoughts?

He's young. No OTA's, No rookie camps, etc. Some of his college film is very, very impressive. I think he'll be a heck of a player for the Cowboys in the future.

Was thinking the same thing. Wonder if he and Harris were really hurt most by this offseason, then with Murray the training camp injury too. I thought he'd be in the game at some of those times that Choice was. Maybe they just don't trust his knowledge of the playbook/offense/protection schemes yet.

Yeah, it's not like he had a ton of carries today to prove his worth. Off the top of my head I can only remember seeing him carry the ball three or four times, although I haven't checked the box score to see for sure.

I think Demarco will be a good #2, and he should get better as he gets used to playing in the NFL. I also don't think we've attempted to maximize his talents yet by lining him up as a receiver or getting him the ball in space. These things will come in time...But it may take until next season before he's fully integrated into our offense.

Jerry Jones back pocket still runs the Roster moves and who plays on game day, everyone knows Tanner is the best RB on the team.

i'm not worried. There are much bigger things that worry me on this team.

Demarco is a rookie who missed mini camps and training camp. Relax, I do not know of any rookie who can AP after this crazy off season.

arian foster is young. running backs can contribute immediately. he came from a big time school with plenty of starting experience in a big time conference. i dont think that excuse is valid.

I am the biggest Murray fan on this board. YES I AM !!!

Im not worried. He just needs reps and knowledge. We haven't seen enough of him yet.

Everyone usually gets a year before we start throwing them off the bus, right?

Foster is not a rookie

Lol, DeMarco Murray is the least of my concerns.

The real elephant in the room IMO is what direction this team is going with Tony Romo.

Do we hitch our wagons to him for the next 3-4 seasons, or do we start looking for other options?

I figured we would see more of him after the bye week. He has the tools to be effective in this league.

I'm guessing that was a joke?

does not look like an instinctive runner. Does not do ANYTHING that suggest he is any more talented than the kids who were NOT drafted. This is not a position where you need OTAs, training camp etc...to prove you have some unique qualities. There is NOTING unique about this kid. From a speed, power, elusiveness perspective...just looks like a 'guy'.

Arian Foster had 257 yards his ENTIRE rookie year. Again not worried about DeMarco.

Because he played for OU in a conference with 1 other ok defense.

The guy was hitting the edge untouched all day.

Pretty bold statement, except Foster is in his 3rd year of the Houston system and had 2 previous years of OTA's, Training Camps, etc. Also Murray was injured for most of the pre-season and what little training camp they had. Again, Murray will be fine.

Yeah the one defense he did play against the OU defense everyday in practice.

I agree and Foster didn't set the world on fire his rookie year 257 yards total.
