Before we take a look at any game film or stats, I just want to show you how Eli Harold compares to Vic Beasley physically:

Athletically, both of these guys are freaks at the defensive end position. Beasley’s vertical jump is significantly better than Harold’s, but Harold fares pretty well compared to Beasley in nearly every other category. Beasley is a special athlete, but Harold isn’t too far behind. Harold’s long arms combined with his explosive first step would have me drooling if I could get my hands on him if I was a defensive coordinator.

Beasley is alot better player. Stop looking at combine nunbers. Harold is not a 43 DE. he is raw and needs alot of work

That's why Beasley will be a top 16 pick.

There is no reason Harold can't be a weak side DE in a scheme like Marinelli's.

The question would be if Lawrence can play the Strong side.

My case is this...

For years, SEA used Red Bryant as their LDE and brought in pass rushers on passing downs. Why can't Harold be Dallas' version of Bruce Irvin?

Seattle's starter at WDE in 2013 was Chris Clemons at 254 pounds.

I think Harold could do what Clemons did.

I don't know if Irving is the best example because he plays LB when he's not lined up as a pass rusher. That makes him much more valuable than just being a situational pass rusher.

Right. Early in his career, situational pass rusher only. But I get what your saying.

Where do you project Harold to get drafted if the Cowboys don't take him?

I have an early 2nd round grade on him. But from a few scouts I've talked to, it's not all that likely he even makes it to DAL in the first. Extremely young and pass rushers are so coveted in the NFL.

There is reason. Harold has no pass rush move. Also your taking lawerence away from his best spot to succeed. Best thing to do is find the best LDE

Why is Beasley a 4-3 DE but not Harold?

Because watch the tape. Watch vs CAM Irving FSU. He lined up in a 3 point stance several times and used pass rush moves. He uses his hands and can bull rush.

Harold is just a around the corner quick rusher best and usually playing standing up.

Beasley did both to a high success

I will agree on the game vs FSU. By far is worst game of the season. It was bad.
