If that email is all they've got on him, it's a waste of time.

He told the equipment manager he wanted 2 helmets that could pass as game worn.

That could just mean don't clean them up. It's not as if he told the guy to scratch up some new helmets to make them look used.

heck Manning ought to have about 500 helmets made up for him, then everytime he comes to sideline in a home game,
he changes helmets.
he could then change 20 times or more, giving him 20-30 game worn helmets per game.
he could also change jerseys during game or at least at half, giving him 2 per game or 32 per year.
If he could change like helmets on sidelines, 20 per game, all legit game worn.
