In his ability to come back after making mistakes, Eli reminds Accorsi of Johnny Unitas.

"To be able to reverse the personality of a game is the rarest of qualities," says Accorsi, who admits even he finds himself shaking his head when his young quarterback bounces back from early mistakes to work some final-minutes magic. For Accorsi, it conjures up a memory of Johnny Unitas' throwing three interceptions early as the Colts dug a hole for themselves, only to pull the game out in the end. It is the ultimate honor for Accorsi to compare anyone to Johnny U., even if only when referring to the ability to rise with the game on the line."

Peyton has always reminded me of Unitas, very similar in their styles and approach to the game ( It could also be the Colts' uniform he wears and his number which is only one off from Johnny U's #19). Eli never has. Not that Eli isn't going to be a great QB but he is still a long ways behind Peyton IMO and will likely never have the same grasp of the game that his older brother does.

Eli does have that ability to take things in stride while Peyton tends to get upset more easily, even Archie said that about them.

I would take Peyton over any QB in the league without a moment's hesitation but I can't say the same about Eli.

i'm not old enough to compare him to johnny u but for a 2nd year qb he's is way ahead of where you would expect him to be at thispoint

Anyone who makes fun of Manning is just jealous or dumb. He will be a great one, wish we had him. The Giants will be good for many years going forward.

Well, here's hoping that Eli reminds everyone here of a "deer with it's eyes caught in the headlights" as the on-coming "Doomsday Cubed" goes crashing through.

A GM patting himself on the back? No way. ;)
Yeah, haha.

I don't know if Accorsi himself was the one first said it, but Jints fans I know refer to Eli as Accorsi's 'legacy'. As in, "we haven't had a franchise QB since Y.A. Tittle, and now we got one". (Poor Fran)

Supposedly he's walking end of this year, guess he's just reminding the fanbase he's its saviour.
