Eli owns us?

I don't think Rob Ryan will allow this stuff tomorrow night...I hope.

I know some of you don't really care for Sturm that much but this article does have some truth to it. Manning has been killing us lately.

If Scandrick and Claiborne can hold up, I'm pretty sure Carr will, our defense is much better equipped this year to counter. I'm hoping Carter and Connor along with Lee will be the difference. Take out the wideouts and with better coverage from the middle LB's, we may be able to pressure Eli a lot better than we have been.

I expect Claiborne to have some struggles. I also expect him to make some plays. I think our real advantages are coming from Carter being able to cover more and Church. There is just something about Church that I have faith in.

I don't see how anyone can deny that Eli has owned us. Last year against us he had 5 touchdowns, just 1 pick, and threw for over 700 yards. That's great production right there. Hopefully the upgrades in the secondary change things, but there's no question that Eli has owned the Cowboys.

By that logic, Romo owns the Giants defense.

He does. Tony's numbers were excellent as well.He threw 6 touchdowns, just one pick, and 610 passing yards.

Yeah, well, this isn't the same Cowboys defense, but thanks for the history lesson, Bob.

No, but Eli is still Eli. He's a great player and great players can't be stopped no matter how good your defense is.

I have seen defenses at times make Eli look horrible. He just seems to play better against us. And our defense recently, for whatever reason, has allowed him to.

Every great player has off games. In 2010 he was horrible at protecting the ball, but was much better last season.

Even though we revamped our secondary with Claiborne and Carr, having Scandrick still manning the slot worries me. Even though some don't want to admit it, he has been an easy target for opposing QBs... especially on 3rd downs.

I do think having faster LBs running underneath can make Scandrick's job a little easier.

Ya it's weird... I'm not even really worried about Church. I think the improved corners will improve everybody a bit.

To deny that article is to be pretty blind. I myself will not trash Eli Manning, and haven't for a few years. He plays very, very well against the Cowboys and has for a long time.

I'm really curious to see how Carr and Claiborne protect against Eli's famous jump-ball type throws. It's uncanny the ability Eli has in making a back-footed throw that looks like a terrible overthrow, only to land in his receivers' hands; and it's uncanny how his receivers can continually pull off such throws.

It's all about the ability to generate pressure. The last time we dominated Eli was in 2008 when our defense sacked him 8 times and held them to 8 points. No coincidence that was the season we led the league in sacks

That would be the same Eli that his team quit on in back to back games in 2009 or 2010?

That Eli?

Right.. Save Scandrick who's a part timer, our secondary is completely new and that's a VERY good thing. The secondary is going to make Eli hold the ball for and extra 1-2 seconds and they will give our DE's the full opportunity to wreak havoc on Eli. Tomorrow night can't get here soon enough.
