Eli under pressure

I have noticed that when the pocket begins to breakdown Eli will slide to his right consistently. Then he looks deep or throws to the sideline.

When he slides to his left he is not as accurate with his throws. Maybe we can adjust our rush and make him move to his left.

I hope our staff has seen this because it plays out when you watch him.

He won't slide to his left if that's where Ware is coming from.

Most QB's struggle more throwing on their opposite side, especially on the run, so this makes a lot of sense.

switch ware and spencer? make him go left lol

plus the pressure he would create from just seeing ware might help us.

That's standard for any right handed QB.

We have to do something different. What I don't want to see is massive blitzing because we can't get enough pressure. Our secondary will get eaten alive.

He also looks for Ballard when sliding away from pressure. Likely the hot read. Ballard probably won't be playing, so that is good news for Dallas.

I also saw some stat that showed Eli was 4 of 11 when the Cowboys rushed at least 5 players in the first half, but then he adjusted and picked apart that same rush in the 2nd half. Ballard was a huge part of it.

The main point is he looks to the sidelines when things breakdown or he goes deep. Eli seems to throw over the middle on timing routes or hot reads.

Watch how often it plays out.

Yes, that is true for 99% of QBs.

Romo somehow manages to be equally dangerous rolling to his left. I don't know how he does it because just about no one else has ever been able to do what he does.

Funny that a board poster can be more creative than our DC.

It's the shoulders. He avoids the rush and pump fakes very well with his shoulders, but he also can square them up better than anyone when he's rolling to his left.

It just a unique skill. I've never seen anyone else who can do it like him. I don't know if he has kind of unusual flexibility in his torso to get it done but it is a very rare skill that he has there.

Spencer tends to get sucked in and either lose the edge on the RB, loose pressure on the QB rolling right, and get fooled on screens. He crashes and chases well to the opposite side but he gets lost on his side way too often.

As long as he can't seem to get to the QB, I at least hope he maintains the edge better than he has demonstrated this year.
