Elite Defense

Secondary and interior line are just ok. We need better safety play and more guys at DT. Byron also has to learn to finish strong. He fell apart after November.

It’s a very good defense, but it has some weaker spots; mainly DT and Safety.

The Rams did a good job of exposing and exploiting both.

Defense has allowed about 26 PPG the last 6 games of the season.

Pathetic performance down the stretch, and no, this defense is nowhere near elite.
NO, Not elite but way better than years past!

This defense hasn't been the same since the Saints game.

After Saints game they were being called maybe the best, LVE best LB in football, Jones best CB, etc. It all went south from there. That’s y Parcells used 2 say put away the anointing oil

They simply didn’t show up. At all. For them not to stop the run was unreal. No adjustments at halftime. It’s like they were done after the first quarter. We needed TDs and we floundered on Offense to many wasted series’s.

You could clearly see cracks forming on the defense weeks ago. Read my posts! The way Indy gashed us in week 15 was a big red flag. The Giants put up 35 points in the season finale minus OBJ. The defense peaked against New Orleans and started coming down from there. Our final 6 games including the playoffs we didn’t give up fewer than 22 points. We were squeaking out wins every week and it caught up with us against a great offensive team. I knew keeping the Rams under 30 points would be a huge task.

Good post.

This defense ate the cheese big time after what happened against Seattle.

No elite defense has ever existed that does not force turnovers and lots of them. Tightening up on a short field and forcing FGs is not quality defense.

This just in Jeff Heath still sucks. It’s time for a change.

Do people realize what the NFL is right now? If you hold a team to 30, you have a chance to win.

This offense is the problem, even if the defense didn't play well last night.

The Saints were clearly the best offensive team we played during the regular season and we held them to 10 points. Only Jacksonville scored fewer against us. We emptied most of our tank against the Saints defensively because our D never played to that level again. Started noticing a lot of missed tackles and giving up some big plays. Forcing turnovers was an issue all season.

The fanbase started getting carried away with the defense calling it elite. It became very clear after the Indy game that the defense wasn’t close to being elite. The players we counted on defensively all season were no shows yesterday.

Our defense always sucks in the divisional rounds for some reason. Why Jerrry why?
