Nope. This isn't a March Madness thread, but instead this thread will breakdown what I call the Elite Eight.
I feel like there are 8 Blue Chip Players in this draft. They are as follows:
Patrick Peterson CB
Nick Fairly DT
Marcel Darieus DT
Blane Gabbert QB
Da'Quan Bowers DE
Von Miller OLB
A.J. Green WR
Cam Newton QB
The Dallas Cowboys draft at #9 and I believe they will covet one of these players because of their abilities and they potential for maximum trade value.
So the first thing to find out is what players need to be selected before #9 that do not fill a need or fit the system for the Cowboys.
Blane Gabbert and Cam Newton are the first two players who need to be drafted before #9 because of Tony Romo. I believe this will happen.
A.J. Green does not help the Cowboys because of their talented WR's in Miles Austin and Dez Bryant. I also believe he will be gone before #9.
Nick Fairly does not fit a 3-4 well so he is most likely to be out of the equation. I believe it is highly likely he is gone before #9.
Marcel Darius does fit the need of a 3-4 DE however, I believe he will be gone before #9.
Patrick Peterson is the best player in the draft. He fills a major need for Dallas but I don't believe he will make it to #9.
So that leaves Von Miller and Da'Quan Bowers. Von Miller has potential suitors in Arizona and Buffalo is as clean as anyone off the field. He will most likely go before #9.
Da'Quan Bowers has some injury concerns but was a demon this year. I believe he is the most likely to make it to #9.
So how do we get one of these players to fall to us? Who could potentially be drafted in the top 8 to push one of these players to us?
I believe Julio Jones has the best chance to do this. He has suitors in Cincinnati, Cleveland, & Tenneesee. Julio is on the rise and has the best chance to know an Elite 8 down to #9.
A dark-horse to do this in my opinion is Jake Locker. 6 of the top 8 teams need QB's and not to mention teams like Washington, Minnesota and Miami all in the 10-16 range. QB's are the most valuable position in football and it would not surprise me to see him in the top 8.
