Seeing that one of our biggest needs is another pass rusher, who are the elite ones in the draft? Read the scouting report on a lot of guys but none of them seem to be great pass rushers

There are no elite pass rushers this year . This is considered a weak draft for DL and OLB . There are some good prospects but no elite ones .

There is none. If we're gonna get an elite pass rusher it'll be in free agency.

I don't know if there are any elite pass rushers in free agency . Maybe Campbell from the Cards .

Mario Williams is a free agent as is Mathis from the Colts.

No way Arizona lets Campbell go, that dude is a beast.

Elite pass rushes in FA.

Mathis
Campbell
Williams

I'd say out of those 3 Mathis is the most realistic. Indy is clearly in rebuilding mode evident by the fact they've fired their GM and head coach. At this point wouldn't be shocked if Manning was let go as well. Mathis didn't have a great year, but a solid one. 9.5 sacks and 3 forced fumbles. You also have to take an account he was on the worst team in football so motivation was an issue. In Dallas playing for a team that was very close to making the postseason I firmly believe the motivation would be there for Mathis.

Last year at this time there wasn't a Tackle worthy of a #9 pick. Keep your eye on Nick Perry out of usc. He is going to fly up draft boards

Mathis might be a guy to go after ... but dont count on getting a bunch of high dollar FAs ... if you go get nicks to be your guard .. then you probably cant afford mathis.

I would love to have Mathis on the opposite of Ware! Indy had a terrible defense this year though, so they would more than likely try to hold onto Mathis.

not to mention they were so far behind so often that the other team did not need to pass much so his oppurtunities for rushing the passer were limited

I wouldn't say for sure there are no "elite" pass rushers this year...it's hard to tell. I didn't think Aldon Smith would be this good - we knew he was an explosive athlete and one of the more athletic pass rushers in the draft but in terms of producing, it was uncertain because he didn't really dominate in college. Let's wait until we see how these guys work out first and their performance in the Senior Bowl
