Elite QB's

Listening to Colin Cowherd on my way to work, he reported that now that Favre is retiring there is only 6 elite qb's in the NFL. He list them in no particular order as: P. Manning, Brady, Brees, Rothensberger, Rivers, and Rogers. I understand the first 4 because they have won the Super Bowl but not the last two. They haven't won anything. He argued that Rivers and Rogers put up elite numbers. I am not trying to be homer but if that is the case, Romo has put up just as equal if not better numbers. I know it is the media hate but am I am missing something here because if you put Rogers and Rivers as elite qb's, you also have to put Romo up there also based on stats alone. Just my opinion.

Romo has a lot of haters out there, arguably moreso than any other player in the league. But you're right, based on stats and winning % alone, he belongs up there among the top 5-6.

I don't hear that. I listen to his podcast every day (30 minutes or so). He is going to talk teams that pulls ratings. Yankees, Cowboys, Lakers, etc. I may not always agree with his takes. During Football season it is very rare for him to go a day without talking about the Cowboys. Most of the time he is fair imo. He has not been a believer in Wade Phillips in the past and up until last year Wade hadn't shown he could win in the playoffs.

BTW, I don't really care where the media ranks Romo. 5? 7? 9? etc. All I know he is very good and I wouldn't trade him for many. I am much more interested in winning a super bowl than trying to figure out who the 6th rated QB is.

I like Cowherd for everything but the NFL talk, when it comes to the NFL he quickly turns into an idiot. Whenever there's a slow news day you can count on him coming up with a BS negative cowboy story.

Rivers and Rodgers are elite QBs but Romo isn't? What have they done that Romo hasn't? If Romo wasn't out 3-4 games in '08 he would've likely had 4k yds and 30+ TDs for two years in a row, those are freakin' ELITE numbers no matter what anyone says. Rodgers hasn't even won his division yet, 6-10 and 11-5? He'd be killed down here.
